So far we've lost to Florida State (good Lord that game was a joke), barely gotten by Clemson (three overtimes...I about passed out at the end) and nickle and dimed a couple of cream puffs (Colorado and South Florida). I hate to say it, but I think that we are going to royally get our ass kicked by Virginia Tech this season. We have a lot of problems (largest of which seems to be anyone other than Moss who can catch and hold onto a football). But Coker will smooth things out. When you lose as many players as Miami does each year to the NFL, it sometimes takes you a minute to get the ship back on course.

That page has his name and location. Someone seriously needs to contact his guardians and let them know what is going on. He is in serious need of some help. The pedophile thing alone should be brought to their attention.

When he first came here, he seemed normal enough. Slightly irritating, but he just seemed to a young guy with a lot to say. But things really got out of hand and I ended up making a thread here about a time out for him. He said he would calm down, but it seems almost as if he then started to think he could get away with anything as long as he said he was sorry afterwards. (My three year old has been employing this tactic lately.) He also PM'd me many times asking for different discs, but saying that he wouldn't be able to PiF or help in any way other than "lending my review to the community" as he put it.

Seriously, though. I think that he could be helped, but not until someone lets his family know what is going on. It really is very sad when you stop to think about it. By his own admission, he has problems. But if his only means of seeking help is lashing out on the internet, I fear that things are just going to get worse and worse until he takes out his agression in the real world. And if for that reason, if nothing else, I actually hope he stays in his room tapping away at those keys. At least here, he is relatively harmless.

MagnoliaFan Edits: Ep I "Balance Of The Force", and Ep II "The Clone War" (Released)

I have about six tapes of TPM hype (That's almost 12 hours of GL asskissing, folks) that I have yet to go through. I got them in a trade LONG ago. I'll try to get to them in the next week or so and see if there is anything noteworthy as far as the "Before" factor is concerned.

I have long wanted to see just this type of documentary. Something along these lines, anyway. With all of the hype docu's that came out around the release of TPM, you would think that someone would have already done this. Guess it falls under the catagory of "I've wasted enough time on this horses**t". LOL.

***The Official NON-Star Wars FAN EDIT*** Release Thread
Time
Hopefully we can get some trading and PiF going on these titles. I know there are a few there that I would like to add to my collection (namely Hannibal, Willard and The Matrix).

Personally, I am tackling a horror/Halloween compilation disc set for a big Halloween party that my friend and I are throwing this month (if it turns out good enough, I will see about getting it out there for others), but after that I plan on seeing what I can do about an edit of THE FLY, seeing as the SE comes out today. Gonna see what scenes could be worked into it (really looking forward to seeing the monkey/cat scene). Then there are a couple of others that I am thinking of. Star Wars related. Never done one personally but I am very much looking forward to giving it a shot.

Thanks, Rikter, for all of your archive work and keeping things moving in the community. I've said it before... you are our king!

Then perhaps you should trust the other hundred or so reviews that are raving this thing up one side and down the other. It's too bad that so many reviews need to use the Star Wars references, though. All that will do is piss off the stick in the mud fanboys who see it as a slight on their Holy Saga.

Anyone who doesn't go give this a try is a fool in my opinion. I took nine people over the weekend who couldn't have told you who Joss Whedon was and they ALL loved it. I was very surprised as I was about to try and defend it. When I saw that I didn't need to and that they really loved it, I figured that I should try and get as many people into it as possible.

I'll take you up on that, Hoich. Actually, I just need the Empire disc. You can take a look over my list again and see if there is anything else you might want from there for me to add to the package I will be sending out to you this week.

Thanks!

Then why did you take the set? They aren't going to be ready to watch when you get them. You are going to have to unrar them and then burn them. Sorry and I hate to be a pest, but it just bothers me when people are getting stuff and for whatever reason, not paying it forward. And in this case, your reasoning doesn't make sense.

Oh well... as I said, when I get them and they are burned up, I will post some PiF info. I am a bit behind right now due to some unforseen mishaps with another disc that I was to pay forward, but once that is up to speed, it will be all good.

The picture is from Definitive Collection set. The mono mix track is from old '77 bootleg telecine tape. The other two tracks were from the Definitive Collection box set and the Widescreen edition sets.

Some love...

"The cleverest, crankiest, wittiest, wildest, and most character-driven sci-fi adventure in 25 years; it's the best outer-space trip I've been on since the empire struck back."
-- Scott Weinberg, EFILMCRITIC.COM

"This material cobbles together elements of Westerns, space epics, new-age mysticism and even zombie-horror films. And it's to the credit of screenwriter/director Joss Whedon that it all feels cohesive, coherent and believable."
-- Jeff Vice, DESERET NEWS, SALT LAKE CITY

"I can't believe I am saying this, but I think Serenity could be the new Star Wars."
-- Willie Waffle, WAFFLEMOVIES.COM

"Good old-fashioned entertainment that delivers primarily through its storyline, it’s a bit like Star Wars with a dash of Indiana Jones-style action."
-- Urban Cinefile Critics, URBAN CINEFILE

"Though the movie seems built to launch an ongoing franchise, Whedon avoids bowing to the status quo, daringly taking his story in uncompromising directions."
-- Phil Villarreal, ARIZONA DAILY STAR

"Like watching the original Star Wars for the first time, or better yet, watching The Empire Strikes Back... Mal is a guy who would shoot Greedo first."
-- Fred Topel, ABOUT.COM

"A space spectacle resonant with witty dialogue, accessible characters and kaleidoscopic action."
-- Philip Wuntch, DALLAS MORNING NEWS

"He's [Joss Whedon] interested in relationships, and he makes the smart choice to create drama through character development rather than action."
-- Lawrence Toppman, CHARLOTTE OBSERVER

"Serenity flies with sass and spirit, qualities that have been in palpably short supply in that Star Wars series since, well, Star Wars."
-- Jan Stuart, NEWSDAY

"Half a millennium after Neil Armstrong's one small step for mankind and we're back in the saddle again."
-- Desson Thomson, WASHINGTON POST

"A good old-fashioned space opera."
-- Michael Senft, ARIZONA REPUBLIC

"It has a great sense of humor about it, an attractive cast and it’s just a lot of fun."
-- Richard Roeper, EBERT & ROEPER

"Han Solo? Your ship has flown. Indiana Jones? Move over. Captain Malcolm Reynolds is the big screen’s most engaging and heroic rogue in decades."
-- Jeffrey Overstreet, LOOKING CLOSER

"A lot more sweaty fun than the last three overhyped, sterile, for-dorks-only Star Wars cartoons."
-- Connie Ogle, MIAMI HERALD

"The best summer thrill ride since Batman Begins, Serenity roars in a late but mighty welcome considering this year's sub-fun slate."
-- Louis B. Parks, HOUSTON CHRONICLE

"Even if you aren't one of the "Firefly" faithful, Serenity will give you some insight into why other people are."
-- Steven D. Greydanus, DECENT FILMS GUIDE

"Can proudly be placed alongside “The Empire Strikes Back” and “Blade Runner” as one of the best science-fiction movies of modern cinema."
-- Edward Havens, FILMJERK.COM

"If you think the Star Wars prequels are a disease, then Serenity is the cure."

Sadly this barely cracked $10mil this weekend. I am shocked. I thought for sure Joss had a hit on his hands. I was lucky enough to catch the early fan screenings they did a few months back, and I also caught it this weekend. Joss says he is waiting to see what the second week brings, but with an opening this low, it is really hard to gain any legs.

Oh well... at least he got to finish the story. Firefly was a great show and I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend it to any and all.

I only have about twenty three cents in my pocket, but I'm sure you could buy at least half a sense of humor with that.

I was not trying to be funny.
