Can someone please hop on to seed the Rowman Episode IV Ultimate Sups disc on myspleen? I have been sitting on a 2kbs download for three days and those that have been finishing are hopping off. Any help is appreciated. I had this and the disc got loose in the case when I moved and is trashed. All I should need is like a few hours at a decent speed as I am currently sitting at 87% done. I will of course seed to double when done as usual.
I can't wait to see your Jaws releases, dfnyc. Been looking forward to those and the E.T. ones you had mentioned a while back.
And all I can say on this topic is that from all of the information that I have seen presented, this does very much look about as fruitless as looking for the "Biggs Print", the "Spider Pit" in Kong or the "after credits" sequence of Raiders. Even if it does exist, you are never going to see it. After over twenty years, this thing would have seen the light of day in some capacity. There are too many fans of this film for something like that to exist and not have been dug up by now.
Let the PiF begging begin. If anyone can help me out in getting this I will of course be willing to trade up for anything in my collection. PM me, please. Cannot wait to see this!
So did anyone every get a good set of art for this set? I know DJ said that he was getting some from TheCassidy, but they haven't shown up here. If anyone has some, I would love to get it before the weekend as I am planning on giving this set (and a STACK of other stuff) to a friend for Christmas.
I have The Fandom Menace on VHS. We had Jeff as a guest at the convention that I helped organize back in 2001 and he left his tape there. LOL. Pretty good doc. I really like Starwoids and Star Wait is just hilarious for the antics of its participants.
Actually, I am looking forward to that Evil Dead release, too. The "Cabin Edition" (or whatever they said they were calling it) is gonna have a feature on there about the Ladies Of Evil Dead and they filmed a lot of stuff at the Flashback Weekend convention that I went to this past summer since the entire cast and Tom Sullivan were there.
I blame the confusion on Anchor Bay. They release a movie so many damn times even they don't know what versions are out there. LOL. Personally, I own the first barebones release that they did, the two disc set with the lenticular cover and the two disc anniversary set. I also have all of the tapes that they put out (along with every other video release of the film including the old release that accidentally included the tv cut...LOL). My favorite is the black box 2 VHS set that had the orange tapes inside. Can't remember if that documentary was included on one of the two disc sets or not. Now I'm confused, too. Shit.
What I am waiting for is the Halloween Returns To Haddonfield DVD that Anchor Bay is dragging their heels on. I was at that convention and it was amazing!

I've said it before, that's fucking hilarious!
And I think everyone else has said the exact opposite. That's fucking pathetic. But I guess you have to have something for the teenagers. I like how they had someone else do the voice since I am sure they were embarassed to show that horseshit to Frank Oz. What an appropriate swan song for the prequels.

Amen. When I requested this originally, I knew exactly what I would be getting if anyone had it. And when Rev came through with MBJ's transfer of his tape, I got just what I expected. And I was appreciative of it. It looks exactly as it has been described to me every time since the first time I heard about it back in the early eighties. Anyone who was hoping for better quality needs to take a minute to trace the source and passage of time. I don't know how many times it can be said that this thing's allure lies simply in its position as a footnote in Star Wars (and bootleg) film/video history. I have never heard of it looking any better than this. And quite frankly, to be honest, I don't think I want it to.
It's probably just their cut and paste cease and desist that they have ready to send out to anyone. I used to have one on my hd, but I can't find it now.

Because that entire company has their head up their collective ass. They really think shit like this is cute. When most everyone else thinks it is what it is. Pathetic. I'll be waiting until the Hollywood Video 5 for $20 bin on this POS.
And to think we still have TV shows to look forward to from these creative genius'.
I kind of thought that fan edits were for films that needed something fixed or in some cases, to incorporate deleted scenes to bring about an extended edition. This film needs nothing, lacks nothing, and is one of the best films of the past few years. I went in with reserved expectations having hated the Schitmaker films and not even really having warmed to Burton's for anything other than nostalgia of the early 90's and was totally and completely blown away. THIS is the Dark Knight that I loved as a child. It has taken the original Donner Superman's place as my favorite comic book film of all time.
There was already a fan edit done that brought the films closer to the tone of the books. They were on the newsgroups about two weeks ago. Didn't bother with them as I love the Jackson films and books on completely different levels. I guess some people just have a really hard time seeing the difference between the two. As my grandad used to say, you can't please some people with a golden d**k. He was a church goer.
