The Spinal Tap Omnibus - Volume 6: The 1992 Concert Tour (Released)
Time
ThatArtGuy,

I don't know if you sent to anyone else, but you did send BOTH discs to me (there are some scratches on the discs but I don't think they affect playback). The reason you did was that I helped you get WHERE ARE THEY NOW and the music video for BITCH SCHOOL in DVD quality without station watermark logos. You sent me those and the FRIDAY NIGHT VIDEOS which were also two discs (upconverted from their original VCD format). I let you know once the discs arrived during October and never heard back so I always assumed you were just too busy plugging away at your project.

So, do you want me to pass them on or not? I certainly don't want to step on your toes...

Johnny Got His Gun: Keep the Home Fires Burning Edition DVD Project...half way through (* unfinished project *)
Time
Metallica owns the copyright for this film in the US. They purchased it so they could play it on their monitors during concerts without worrying about paying extra copyright fees during their concerts. There's been SOME news somewhere concerning a possible DVD release in the future...but just where I saw it escapes me so I can't prove or disprove my memory on it.

Hi,

If you're referring to the UK release, the cover is actually based on the book cover:

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41oFFXgsmeL._SS500_.jpg

Funny if amazon.co.uk is selling an unofficial release as that's where the UK dvd is available.

Anyone want to preserve The Compleat Al? (A Mockumentary about Weird Al) (Released)
Time
Hi,

Unless my uncle has wiped out the VHS tapes I left behind when I moved to Finland, somewhere floating amongst them should be the ALTV special from when he released ON THE DEEP END....almost completely there (the "fake ad" for the solar panel "head piece" started out so real that I thought it was still the ad break). Whenever I talk to him next time, I'll ask him.

Kind Regards,

Here he comes
Her comes Speed Racer
He's a demon on wheels
He's a demon and he's gonna be chasin' after someone.

He's gainin' on you so you better look alive.
He's busy revvin' up a powerful Mach 5.

And when the odds are against him
And there's dangerous work to do
You bet your life Speed Racer
Will see it through.

Go Speed Racer
Go Speed Racer
Go Speed Racer, Go!

He's off and flyin' as he guns the car around the track
He's jammin' down the pedal like he's never comin' back
Adventure's waitin' just ahead.

Go Speed Racer
Go Speed Racer
Go Speed Racer, Go!

Info: Anyone Have The Fight Club Workprint? Or any workprints for that matter?
Time
Hi,

I have the FREDDY'S DEAD Workprint, on VHS and DVDr (DVDr is a transfer of the VHS). DVD misses out on the first section of the film up until John gets his bus ticket. The reason is that the VHS is a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy and that area was so worn that the audio and picture dropped out horribly. Nothing too different during the missing moments, though. John's fall from the window and down the hill lasts considerably longer. Robert's voice remains unprocessed for the entire length of the film (since it's production audio with some slight sound effects and such). It also contains a much different collection of music (MC Hammer's PRAY is a standout) and the end tribute to Freddy is considerably longer as well. Some of the footage that is missing from the actual theatrical cut helps make the plot have more sense (if that's remotely possible, you'll believe it when you see it) while other things deserved to go.

I also have NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 3 Production Footage. Here you get to see all the inner workings behind the film since it was recorded on VHS by crew member(s) and compiled. You get to see how the do the Freddy snake, put Heather through the chair, melt the tricycle and so on. Quite an interesting view behind one of the better NOES sequels.

Info, and Artwork Wanted: MTV 10th Anniversary Special - HELP!
Time
Hi,

Sorry that this is a bit "off-topic" but I just felt compelled to ask if you (or anyone else) have seen (OR done yourself) a preservation of the first hour of MTV's ORIGINAL first premier broadcast WITH the original videos AND commercials intact? I wanted to view it when they had the 25th Anniversary broadcast but since I now live abroad in Europe I could only view it via their website and all I got to see was the DJ talking and then the ads. Nothing else...

I miss the old MTV. You know, when they actually PLAYED music that you could care about.

Now to redirect back on topic, I can't WAIT to see what you've been able to do with this 10 Anniversary!

Hi,

I had the same thing happen to me recently when burning a DL. What you do is preview each of the potential layer break areas and decide which one seems to have the least amount of motion occurring at that point. I didn't do that the first time, so when I played it the layer switch it was noticeable.

When I reburned the disc, I went through the options via the preview and picked the one with the least amount of movement. Once I watched the reburned disc, the switch occurred unnoticed.

Hope this helps...

Info & Info Wanted: A Few other Extended TV Cuts of Films...
Time
MovieDude81,

There is a DVD of DUMB & DUMBER where Lloyd returns to find the old lady gone. You'll have to get it from Holland though...it's the ONLY one with it there. I own the R1 version of the UNCUT version...and surprise! That scene is the only scene to NOT be integrated back into the film.

The TV version of DUMB & DUMBER also includes that scene. I remember because the first time I saw it I though "Hey! That was funny and they left it out of the theatrical version!"

Idea: 'That Was Spinal Tap - A Rock and Roll Creation' - a supplemental project?
Time
Whoops! Accidently hit RETURN before typing...

Anyways, I was wondering if the WHERE ARE THEY NOW show and the music videos (right up to BITCH SCHOOL) are still needed. I have them, in DVD quality. They were released as part of the KINOWELT extras (R2 German and Scandinavian releases). So...DVD quality they are!

Please LMK.
