PM or e-mail me your address info and I'll get a copy out to you ASAP (as promised) if you don't already have one by now.

BIG BIG THANKS to Hal9000 for sending me my copy, and (of course) congrats to Darth Editous for taking the initiative to correct the things that Lowry Digital and Lucasfilm employees were being paid big bucks to correct. Hopefully Lucas will get a copy and send you a check. It really is brilliant work you've done, mate! Cheers!

As far as I'm concerned, the less Jar-Jar says, the better.

I'll take a minor audio drop over fart jokes any day.

Still anxiously (and patiently) awaiting my copy of your opus, ADigitalMan. That's what you get when you're on the bottom of the pyramid.

Does Tarkin know that the Emperor is a Sithlord?

I totally agree. When Tarkin says to Vader "You, My Friend, are all that's left of that religion." I think he makes it clear he has no knowledge of the Emperor's powers. He doesn't say, "You and the Emperor..."

He does however, probably know that Vader was once the reknowned Jedi war hero Anakin Skywalker, hence the "religion" remark, and is known to possess unusual powers. Why he is so loyal to Palpatine is anyone's guess. He doesn't really strike me as the kind of guy who thinks what he is doing is "right". But, rather the kind of person who takes pleasure in doing what is wrong.

In any case, Tarkin is a complicated character, and I was hoping the prequels would eventually offer some answers to these questions, but sadly, one of the greatest disappointments of the Prequels is that he was never mentioned and only served as window dressing in the background of the last shot of the saga.

You can watch Vito's story with the Corleone family dinner scene at the end, then The Godfather, then Michael's story. Then, if you really want, you can watch the story about Sofia Coppola and Anthony Garcia engaging in incest while the family whacks a pope. I think it was called Godfather III but I'm not sure.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. So you've already done this. It just needs to be cleaned up a bit?

Do you think the story plays better as a chronological whole, or is it better the original way?

I'd love to see the E.T. project. And the Dark Side of the Moon actually integrated into a Wizard of Oz DVD is genius. Pass me a few tabs please.

Ever considered doing an edit of The Godfather Saga, to rearrange the flashbacks into one long sequential narrative?

Coppola actually did this once for a TV airing and people loved it, but later he said that it was meant to be seen with "the flashbacks", so any hope of seeing it on DVD is probably lost.

People in the U.S. - As soon as I receive my copy from HAL9000, I'll be happy to burn it and send more out to whoever needs it.

Thanks again, Hal! And BIG thanks especially to Darth Editous for making what looks like a friggin' awesome edit! That Obi-Wan screenshot (with his face in the hood during the duel) sells it for me. Incredible! I just can't wait to see it.

If only George Lucas' team (which is getting paid a hell of a lot of money) could've taken the time and care with the DVD that you have put into it...

Can the Ewoks be cut out?

I totally agree, Hardcore Legend. It seems to be a theme with George Lucas. Juxtapose something really stupid with something absolutely incredible! Ewoks/Emperor - Gungans/Darth Maul Duel

For me, the only reason to watch ROTJ is Yoda's death, the corresponding Obi-Wan visitation, and the Emperor/Luke/Vader scenes. The space battle is still good too. Everything else is just muppet fluff.

I think a music change would definitely be in order (sorry, John Williams) to something less "cute", and integrate something more mysterious and/or threatening from one of the other films. I think you could acheive a lot with the Ewoks' scenes using just this and a few well-placed cuts and subtitles.

i.e. - cutting out all the slapstick bits, including the stupid "3PO Storytime" scene, with female Ewoks clutching cuddly little babies and so forth. That scene always makes me feel like I'm in Kindergarten again, (which, of course, I was in 1983).

But, not in a good way.

ROTS: Palpatine's Diatribe
Time
I totally agree with the post directly above mine.

And as for the voice fluctuation: I think it was done to show that Sidious is not just a man who was scarred by lighting. But much more. A demon taking physical form. Palpatine is more like a possessed vessel for a much greater power, masquerading all this time as a kindly old statesman. An ancient evil bubbling up from the body it now inhabits. Quite literally "The Devil". That's how it came across to me anyway.

Palpatine was obviously fascinated by history as evidenced by the artifacts, statues, etc displayed in his office, not to mention his knowledge of mythology and so forth. Could Palpatine have become possessed at some point by the evil spirit of a Sith Lord while unearthing or studying one of these artifacts? I think it's plausible. Much more plausible than him just being born evil.
