it is official now that Sean Connery will not be in the movie although Henry Jones senior was in the script, connery turned the movie down preferring to remain retired. I wonder if it has anything to do with the less than specatacular prequels.

Still the scenes in the script that reportedly had all three generations of the jones men in adventure together will only be two.

I was disappointed by this. Too bad they couldn't work something out.

Eh...no huge loss. Would've been cool, but do we really need another two hours full of lines like "The armiesh of darknesh will marsh all over the facesh of the Earth..."?

Maybe they should've called Darrell Hammond instead.

I was really happy to hear about Marion coming back though. And John Hurt is good in any movie. I think he'll fit right in.

Star Wars: REBORN - The Complete Saga (* unfinished project *)

Leia being Luke's sister has been an accepted part of the Star Wars canon since 1983. To me, that part of the story is sacred ground, not for us to mess with. I'll mess with Ewoks... I'll mess with Jabba's Palace... But not that.

The end of ROTJ will have new music, that's a guarantee. The Ewoks and Lando's booty dancing will be scaled back.... Probably no Gungan celebration... And it will include a short, closing narration by Ian McDiarmid at the very end. I also want the final shot to be of the ghosts...(the original Sebastian Shaw version) instead of the ridiculous "family portrait with the Ewoks" shot.

As for the ROTS scenes: The Death Star scene is being bumped up to the prologue in the very beginning of ANH. The creation of Vader and Padme's death I don't want to go into details about right now. We're trying a few different things with it, but if it works, it's going to be beautiful.

The adoption of Baby Luke and Leia will happen right before Luke burns Vader's body...(if we can get it to work.) I like it there because it's cyclical. it brings you right back to ANH at the very end...making you want to watch the whole thing over again. We might include Yoda landing on Dagobah too...we'll see how it fits.

The clip that was posted is how the final cut on that scene is going to be....plus a few more sound effects. No painting out of Jedi "red-shirts". Although I do wish we had that capability.

Thanks for noticing the Wilhelm, I like it too.

No ETA. It's just going to be finished when it's finished. Which, if everything continues to go well, will be sooner than you think.

Welcome, RoccondilRinon!

Yeah, we would prefer to use Adywan's. Not because we don't love Darth Editous' version, but because like you said...visually it would match up better with the Prequels. We did hold off for as long as we could, but, Ady's has now been pushed back to November and we don't want to wait that long...so basically, we will probably end up doing two versions. The first with DE's, and the second with Ady's. That is, of course, if Adywan gives us his blessing on that. Darth Editous has already been kind enough to do that.

As for Reborn being the only way to watch Star Wars...it will be for me...I know that.

Thanks for the comments, Guys...

The "Palpatine transformation" is something that we've gone back and forth on, trying a lot of different things... We've taken a lot out...then put some back...then taken it out again....it's just one of those scenes which was handled so badly that it's very hard to fix. In fact, we worked on it so much, that we finally had to put it away and start on ANH...it almost broke us! LOL

So, we're still deciding on how to handle it...we'll tackle it when we finally get back to Jedi. Any brilliant suggestions out there?

This is my favorite version though...LOL!

Yes, the very first scene of Return of the Jedi after "A long time ago...." fades into the "Padme's Ruminations" scene, which leads directly into the duel. After being left at the end of ESB not knowing for sure if Vader is telling the truth about being Luke's father, we open Jedi with the sequence which confirms the awful truth.

It appears darker because of the lower bit rate, and there are a few sound effects that somehow didn't make it into the final mix, like at the end when Palps gets knocked down you're supposed to hear him hitting the floor and his lightsaber switching off....and also the wind was more powerful when the window got shattered...we'll fix it later.

But when you consider that everything past Palps igniting his lightsaber was absolute silence, I think it turned out pretty well.

The whole goal was to change the music and quicken the pace. I think it's about as good as one of the saga's crappiest duels can get without re-filming the actors....

The music is from War of the Worlds, by the way.

Of course, you guys won't be seeing Jedi for a while, but we thought it would be fun to release a somewhat completed sequence for you to argue over.
