My 3rd Unit shoot is rapidly coming up, and I'm still trying to save up the cash to rent all the equipment I'll need.

muddyknees2000, I've a rough idea about what Ming's been up to with his 2nd Unit shoot, but I must have missed the info. about what you're hoping to do for this.  Can you elaborate a little or not?

brash_stryker, that brought a smile as some of those 'fonejacker' prank calls were hilarious! :)

Wait...what?...already?...WOW!  Well done everyone who donated this time around.

The 'cloud' lighting looks great throughout, and the Bespin planet's 'lens flare' shot is majestic-looking.  The re-colouration of various elements is marvellous overall, and the replacement background of the final Vader shot is inspired.

Another awesome preview clip as usual! :)

This mix is going to be ultra surround sound.

I can't wait for my neighbours to 'experience' adywan's 'HOTH BATTLE'! :)

We're so lucky that he's an audio wiz on this project as well as a visual one.

Thanks for the heads-up on the latest Facebook info. doubleofive.  Hopefully we can all help towards getting these last necessary materials that are needed to complete this...and nice to see that there'll be one more preview clip released once the half-way point of this final donation push is reached.

PROMETHEUS was (Alien 0?) NOW NO LONGER SPOILER FREE.
Time

I'm kinda hoping it's not the same 'derelict' ship either, purely because there are some distinctive design changes between it and the version originally seen in ALIEN.

On the other hand, there are also quite a few differences to the detailing of the 'Spacejockey', it's 'chair', and the 'base' surrounding it also, so this could just be a sign that Ridley isn't too fussed with 'continuity issues' with the original movie, and wanted to tweak things a little.  And the more 'futuristic'-looking screens could just be another thing that doesn't matter to him in the overall scheme of things, since he's now got the improved technology (and budget) to do them this way for today's audiences.

These obvious design differences will no doubt bother me a bit if this turns out to be the case...but I'm just glad this particular movie is being directed by him rather than anyone else I can think of, as I know I'm in for a visual feast either way.

All I know at this point is that this is all going to look terrific in decent 3D.

And here's an interesting 'timeline' chart that's appeared on the 'weylandindustries' site now, which shows when developments like the 'Spectagraph' (red floating 'mapping' ball seen in latest trailer) came along...

Imp's MOVIE TRAILER SHOWCASE - Past, Present, and Coming Soon...
Time

Gah, haven't been able to update this for a while, but when I went to replace a couple of lost links today it seems that approx. a hundred others from these last six pages are now GONE/or REMOVED from Youtube too!  I don't know if I'll be able to find alternatives uploaded to restore them eventually, or not.  :(

Anyway, I'll be sticking up some recent stuff before too long, but in the meantime I've updated the PROMETHEUS trailers above.  And I'll add the FULL 2 minute 33 second 'Theatrical' version that's coming out later today too.

Info: Topher Grace's Prequel edit
Time

It seems Topher 'Venom' Grace has come up with quite a radical take on the prequels then.  From nearly 7 hours worth of footage down to 85 minutes is certainly a bold cut of the material, and it's too bad we're unlikely to see exactly what he came up with for his 'private screening'.

Anyway, in addition to the Slashfilm link in the 1st post, here's a couple of others with some additional snippets of the cuts he came up with -

Collider.com - http://collider.com/topher-grace-star-wars-prequels/150596/

Firstshowing.net - http://www.firstshowing.net/2012/video-blog-topher-graces-85-minute-cut-of-the-star-wars-prequels/

...although I'm not sure why he'd want to fiddle about with the already great 'Close Encounters Of The Third Kind' next though, considering the likes of 'Spider-man 3' is crying out for attention! ;)

I came across this link to a pic of the 'Space Map' shot which can be 'enlarged' to a really high quality.

Check out the detail on it here - http://www.aintitcoolnews.com/node/54106

And there's a new PROMETHEUS trailer coming out on March 17th...  :)

Here's the details -  Live Q and A with Ridley Scott and the premiere of a new PROMETHEUS trailer!

Hey, for those who are "in the know" so to speak, I'm just curious about something.  In the ESB revisit, how many effect shots have been re-done/enhanced with new models, new people, etc?  Basically, how much "new" footage has been needed to correct the mistakes of old and/or to enhance existing scenes?

Personally, I have always been interested in videography but, just don't have much time/money to pursue it anymore.

I would hate to start counting them just yet, but you will be able to see just how many have been replaced with the visual changes guide that will be on the blu-ray and DVD.

Nice to see that you're planning adding a 'visual changes guide' to your actual edit, now.  That will really show anyone who sees your versions just how much work you've put into these.  Mind you, there's gonna be a heck of a lot to fully list come the time ESB:R is done!

adywan said:

I've added the new fuller change list to the first post and this includes a list of which versions will be available.

Good to see an update on your very first post regarding *some* of those things on the changes list.

adywan said:

All the TIES have been tinted with the same settings.  The shade would vary depending on the lightings, which is why they may look slightly different.

Thanks for clarifying this.  That makes sense. :)

And I never noticed that you'd 'shadowed' half of the Executor's underside to match the distant shot of it, until you showed this comparison - http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/108835  A nice tweak there.

adywan said:

Shortly before the release of ESB:R, a Revisited Complete Saga trailer will be released.

I've also noticed that you've added this to the bottom of your very first post as well now.

Awesome! :)

Perhaps many 'new recruits' were just 'drafted' by 'the Empire' without a say in the matter?...

...and if that was Palpatine's method to strengthen his reach, then shiny blue makeovers wouldn't have been used to bring them on board in the first place...  ;)

Notice that the TIEs are not just blue but are the same exact color as the 2004 dvd ... thus the issue is still relevant.

At the risk of keeping this one going even longer, lol...only *some* of adywan's TIEs seem to be the same exact colour of the blu-ray shots seen in the latest preview.

But as I mentioned in my 2nd post on the previous page, there seems to be a noticeably 'greyer' colouration to the 'Revisited' ones seen during the comparison shot of the close-up of the Executor's underbelly, compared to some of his other shots...so I'm not sure if that's meant to look like that, or not.

Stick that Youtube comparison clip on full-screen at it's highest quality to see what I mean.  Pause it if you have to, for a clearer look.

3D STAR WARS for the masses...has ARRIVED!

I happened to catch something on t.v. this morning called the 'A-Z Of Star Wars Episode I:T4 Movie Special' which was shown on Channel 4 here in the U.K.

It was basically a 35 mins. long, slightly irreverent, tongue-in-cheek preview for the release of TPM3D.

It also showed numerous behind-the-scenes clips as well as various OT scenes to remind us of those too, and a quick look at some 501st members also.

I'm not sure if this is available to those based outside the U.K., but those that are here *might* be able to 'catch up' with this online tomorrow onwards.

Turns out that this recent t.v. special *is* available on Channel 4's 'catch-up' site now after all, although I'm still not sure if those outside the U.K. are able to watch it or not.  So here's the link to view it now, after one or two adverts at the start - http://www.channel4.com/programmes/a-z-of-star-wars-episode-i-t4-movie-special/4od#3288781

Pretty lukewarm, so far. The first was glad that the 3D wasn't over-the-top, but felt it had some technical issues, and still found the movie highly problematic. The second one isn't crazy about the movie, but enjoys having a Star Wars film on the big screen, but ultimately feels the 3D conversion itself is poor.

Have to say that the way I read that second review link that adywan posted, it seemed to regard it a pretty good overall effort for a 2D-3D 'conversion'.

As far as the 'depth' of 3D balance goes though, it seems from this exlusive 'Episode I 3D Conversion' featurette that George doesn't like 3D That 'comes out at you' from the screen (!)...so I wonder just *how* subtle and 'window'-like the effect is throughout that he's gone for - http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/star-wars-episode-i-the-phantom-menace/trailers/star-wars-episode-i-featurette-3d-coversion-28213694.html

Will there be *any* elements that pop out towards us during certain moments at all to wow the young 'uns, or will it all be like looking 'into the distance through a window'?  Either way, not long now to find out...

If nothing else, I'm looking forward to seeing how the 'STAR WARS' logo looks in this format before things move onto 'taxation routes' etc., but I just wish that George hadn't included 'chapter numbers' on these things, as he might have started off with the 3D release of the OT in the first place...

They are running banners across Ebay Uk I notice.

Yeah, I just noticed that too.  And here's the trailer page those banners are linking to - http://www.ebay.co.uk/starwars

Well, we'll be able to to judge how successful this particular 'conversion' has turned out soon, as there's only a few more days to go now before this thing is released on the 'big screen' once again...

Despite my numerous issues with this instalment in general and it not being the specific cut I'd prefer of it, I'm curious to see how it looks in 3D overall, regardless.  And since I've deliberately held off checking out the blu-ray version so far, I'll at least have the new CGI'd YODA moments to look out for this time around.

Anyway, since these recent 'official' posters haven't been put up here yet, here they are -
