When capturing audio from VHS or Hi-Fi VHS, is it enough to just record it through Line In? Or is there a better way (in terms of retaining sound quality)?

Does anybody have the original mono track from the Japanese LD of Police Story 2? The mono track on the DVD sounds really messed up.
For what it's worth, I did see a 35mm screening of this movie back in 2012. I looked at the MPEG2 BD for comparison, and it didn't look significantly different in terms of color timing. The only striking difference is that still frame shot near the end of the movie which looks very static on the BD. It looked less jarring on the print, presumably, because of the extra layer of grain.
I watched The Warriors on Netflix back in 2011 and, as far as I know, it was the theatrical cut (no comic book nonsense). It was in HD as well. Unfortunately, it expired and hasn't been back on Netflix since. But an HD transfer of the theatrical cut does definitely exist.
I hope this means we will finally see some more HD transfers from Fortune Star.

I saw a theatrical screening of Die Hard a couple of days ago (digital, not film), and when I sampled the BD afterwards, the sound mix on the BD, to me, sounded different from the sound mix I heard in the theater. That's why I'm interested in comparing the 70mm mix (or the 35mm mix) to the BD mix.
Anybody know where I can get the original sound mix for Die Hard?

Isn't the BD for TDK slathered in DNR and edge enhancement? Is there any alternate HD source without those problems?

By the way, I have a copy of the rare uncut Golden Harvest English dub. Is there any interest in restoring that as well?
So, what's the deal with the mono mix? Is it a downmix from the stereo or is it an alternate mix for theaters without stereo support?

I would also really like to see a restoration of the HK theatrical cut of Police Story 2. Was that version ever released on Laserdisc? If not, then I have a capture of the audio from a VHS that can be used.

Given the fact how long this has taken to get a Blu-ray release, I was hoping they would finally release the Director's Cut but there's no mention of that.
I looked at your custom BD. It looks and sounds amazing! I never thought this film could ever look this good considering how consistently crappy the transfers have been throughout the years. I applaud you for your efforts. :D

In any case, you could just upload the audio and subtitle tracks and people can just mux them with their Japanese Blu-rays.
