Your first words of reaction after watching one of the PT movies for the first time.

I envy you in a way Anchorhead.

If I’ve never seen the SE of Star Wars I'd be really excited about watching it for the first time, not only a special edition, but a special edition that has had so much love and attention put into it that in a way you are watching a completely new film. A whole new take on Star Wars. I would absolutely love that.

Each to their own I guess, just seems a shame, that's all.

But enough of all this - Back to the topic

Star Wars - Back in 77 at the Odeon Cinema, Leicester Square, London, UK. I must have been about 6, and fell asleep because I thought it was 'Boring' Came to my home town, and for some reason I kept watching it. By the end of it’s run I was hooked – Big time

Empire – In my home town the cinema was only 3 mins walk from my house, so my Uncle would take me all the time. Watched it - loved it. Was about 9, sort of remembered my mother letting me go to watch the film on my own on a Saturday afternoon. It was a very trusting time.

Jedi - Now this one I remember like yesterday. Again it was at the local cinema.
I think it was one of the happiest experiences of my life (after my son being born). 3 long years I’d waited to see this film, and man it was good.
I watched Jedi about 17 times in the 3 weeks it was on. The best bloody days ever!

EDIT: As we seem to be adding pictures, here was my second home for a long time

But it's supposed to be the golden age, when everything was peaceful and good - so to speak. 'Before the dark times, before the Empire'

Oh and Marvolo pretty much summed up Adywans project. But please lets not start a slagging war of which is better.
It's not better, it's not worst...It's just a different take on a classic

While you're making sure my viewing history is sufficient for this board - I have seen Phantom, so I have at least some idea of how the prequels look and feel.

Not at all. Mate, doesn't matter to me how many films you've seen, just wondering that's all. Wasn't sure if you've only seen SW or the OT at least. Can't blame you for not wanting to watch the PT (although I don't actually mind them - especially Sith - kinda like that one in a shitty way)

....do you have any interest in watching Adywans special, special edition of Star Wars when it's finally finished? Because I must say (and I'm not the biggest fan of the SE either) that it does look pretty amazing.

I've never heard of it.

I've never seen the SEs, so if it's something made from those, I won't be watching it.

Fair enough. Just thought it might give you an alternative view on the original film thats all. Even if you just watch it once.

Just if your interested

All but the last two. I haven't seen the SEs and I haven't watched Empire or Return in about 8 years.

Fair enough. I thought I'd read somewhere that you've only seen 'Star Wars' and none of the others. Which I did find kinda strange, in, how can you have an opinion about the other films if you haven't seen them. But you have (well Empire and Jedi at least - which is really all that matters)

On another note, and I'm just interested thats all, not picking any faults with your opinions or anything like that, but, do you have any interest in watching Adywans special, special edition of Star Wars when it's finally finished? Because I must say (and I'm not the biggest fan of the SE either) that it does look pretty amazing. Considering it's basically just a guy at home working on his PC.

Just wanted to know your thoughts on it, that's all.

TPM: Gutted. Absolutely Gutted. Could of cried in my beer in the pub afterwards. When I got over my initial disappointment , I actually quite liked the film. (wasn't too bad after it came out on VHS. It's amazing what a widescreen TV and a big fat joint can do for a so, so film) I also agree, some of the acting is still way below par though.

AOTC: At the time I thought it was much better than the last one. I wasn't expecting a new prequel to the OT, but more of a sequel to TPM (if that makes any sense) - It's just Ok now. I just tend to lose interest half way through. But it's ok. I think I prefer TPM to this one, but that depends on what mood I'm in at the time.

ROTS: Loved it. Thought it ticked all the right boxes. The music, colours, the acting was a big improvement over that last two, the flow of the film. For me this is what all 3 films should have been like. I still watch it now. Dunno why, but I really do like this film.

ESB is still the best SW film IMO. It's my favorite film ever, always has been, always will be.

STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION
Time
^^ Well said

As for the shadow thing. That's something that's always bugged me.
Watch Jedi. The throne room confrontation. When Luke's giving his"I will not fight you father" babble, you can quite clearly see Vader's lighsaber cast a shadow (obviously from the prop he's holding and not intentional). Later on when Luke's just cut off Vader's hand and he's standing over him, there's no shadow from Luke's saber. (again not intentional)
I've always thought that there should be no shadow from a lightsaber.
I suppose if the saber's close to an object there would be a fuzzy type of shadow occurring, but from a distance there would be nothing.
But what do I know, I'm no scientist.

Major scoopage on LOST

Kind of spoilerish....but not really!!

"Through the Looking Glass" - Jack and the castaways begin their efforts to make contact with Naomi's rescue ship, on the season finale of "Lost.”

What ABC is not telling us:

* We do not get a lot more information this season about Richard Alpert and the island’s other natives.

* We do not get a lot more information this season on the Dharma Initiative or the Hanso Foundation.

* We do not learn a lot more this season about Jacob.

* We don’t learn more about the four-toed statue.

* Christian Shepherd is not discovered alive.

* Libby does not appear.

* We will learn something huge about Kate.

* We get a major clue related to the “other” Oceanic 815 that boasted no survivors.

* We’ll be meeting new characters, not all of them in flashbacks.

* Rousseau’s original Frenchy broadcast from the pilot plays a role this week.

* There is much death in the finale.

* Yet another original cast member goes the way of Boone and Shannon.

* A long-absent regular returns. And that regular is not listed among ABC’s cast list.

* We will see Terry O’Quinn at least one more time before the season ends.

* We see a new side of Hurley.

* Desmond does not sacrifice himself to save Charlie.

* There’s a big reveal involving Naomi and Penelope.

* The huge huge huge HUGE season-ending reveal resides in Jack’s very dark flashbacks, so watch them very carefully.

* Between now and 2008, fans may scratch holes in their heads wondering how this show is going to continue next season.

Jacob^^

He could be Locke, an older version. Locke does seem to be the key in all of this (locke = lock // unlock the secrets on the island an' all that shit!)) and time travel has already been explored with Desmond, so who knows. I mean, he could just be sitting there cos he's paralyzed again. He does ask for help.

Remember when Makhail was talking to Sayid, Kate, and Locke in the woods....and he was telling how horrible Sayid and Kate really where.... then stopped at Locke and said "the John Locke I knew..." and then got cut off......Mmmm

Love this show!

What's with all the hatred of X3? Yeah, the treatment of Cyclops was terrible, but it was otherwise a good movie.

The second one had flaws and many fans hated it, but I still enjoyed it.

Really? I would have thought that most of the fans would have loved it. I did. But then, I'm not into comics. But as a film, and especially a comic book film, I thought it was pretty good.
But then, I really liked Spidey 3, so what do I know!

And as for FF, well it was ok. Nothing special, but just a good fun film. I thought Mr Fantastic and Invisible girl should have been a little older though. Someone like (but not) George Clooney to play Reed Richards.
I dunno, It must be cos I'm getting old myself that everyone else looks so young!

Watched it last night, and after most of the reviews I read, I was expecting a right load of tosh.

But I thought it was great. For me it was the perfect sequel, just like number 2, it ticked all the boxes.

The only thing I can't quite work out is just one thing. I was watching Spidey 1 the other night and the black fella who works in the Bugle said something about 'Eddie Brock' being on the case. (as in taking photos). Maybe it was EB jnr's dad. Dunno.
Apart from that, loved it.
