STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time
Regarding the old VHS tapes.
If I remember correctly, the original rental version of ESB was always slightly different in colour and film look (technical term) than the follow up sell-thru's.
I only know this because my kind old mother bought me the VHS rental version of Empire back in 84, and once the cheapo sets came out in 88 or whatever, they always looked different.

Now, if there was a way for me to show you guys I would

I don't get it, I never thought of that box like thing as Needa's shuttle because immediately shows him being choked to death after it leaves that Star Destroyer underbelly, nothing to indicate any passage of time between shots. Please explain to me how that's supposed to be his shuttle when it immediately shows him aboard and choking?

This is no different than watching a movie or TV show where two shots of the same character are separated with a brief establishing shot of a new environment, thus implying that time has passed and the character has now travelled to a new location.

Check out the following clip from Seinfeld on YouTube here -- at the 3:30 mark, Jerry's in the coffee shop, then we get an establishing shot of his apartment building, followed by Jerry in the building talking to Newman. The passage of time is implied here by the establishing shot, just as the shuttle shot in ESB implies Needa leaving one Star Destroyer and boarding the other.

Also, this line kind of implies he's taking a shuttle

COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER: Captain, Lord Vader demands an update on the
pursuit.

NEEDA:Get a shuttle ready. I shall assume full
responsibility for losing them, and apologize to Lord Vader.
Meanwhile, continue to scan the area.

COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER: Yes, Captain Needa.

I never saw the escape as all that exciting anyway, nor did it need to be, they had already escaped Bespin with TIE's on their tail. I like the following of Vader, especially being he's a main character. If you wanna chop off scenes because of their slowness, there are other scenes I could see hacked, but they seem to have a built in immunity to criticism because they were there from the beginning, and these Vader's shuttle scenes would have had a built in immunity from being cut if they were there since 1980. I assure you, most fans would complain if they were cut (if that were the case), pacing or not, you could make that argument about other scenes too. Besides, the shuttle scenes only lasted few seconds.

You sir, are talking from your backside. Your opinion I know, but please, that is utter tosh!

You monkeys are doing me in. You all want to mess with one of the greatest films ever made.
If it were up to some of you baboons, we'd have the Death Star battle at the beginning of Empire, the pod Race while Han gets frozen, Ewoks on Hoth and the two goons looking at a Death Star being built just for the sake of seeing a Death Star being built.
Man, the film is almost perfect (well before the SE came along anyway) can we just leave it that way.

There is no need to add any sort of additional scenes in ESB. This movie is most flawless one in the whole saga (minus cosmetic improvements and a bit of de-SEing). Adding the DS2 or any mention of it (or endor) is totally unnecessary and steps into GL's SE changes territory in that its been put in just because it can.

Thank god for that!!

:D Ok...rant over!!

The cover I created oh so long ago was made as a "catch-all" cover.

Hell, I guess if someone preferred the spine, cover, or logo of someone else's work, it'd be an easy fix to paste those over my version

(Not that I want anyone to do this and upload it. It's just a suggestion as a quick photoshop edit for those who have one or more different covers.)

Errrm...Yeah...Better not show you what I did with your cover then:)

I had to give something to my friends, so I 'altered' yours a little. Hope you don't mind :D

Around here, f**k means oral sex.

What the fuck are you talking about?

In my town, I've never heard it used in any other context ('cept as a general expletive). If it's different elsewhere, I was unawares. I just assumed (wrongly) that it was the same everywhere.

Where you from man?

So, if Fuck means oral sex, what word do you use for intercourse...Blow??

Actually you've just reminded me...I have a shit load of 'doubles' that a friend gave me way, way back for like 50pence. I can give him those.....Bloody hell...I've also just remembered I went through a stage of buying the new type figures..you know the ones..Luke as He-Man type of thing. Plus a few of the later ones, all still boxed up good as new...that's it...he can have those. I'm sure i have 2 At-ST's up in the loft somewhere..He can have one of those too...

Ok...So I'm at that point in my life where I go "Do I give my 3 year old son access to all my old vintage Star Wars toys?"
I had a lot as a kid growing up...was an only adopted child..guess my parents tried to please me...and still have all my figures and vehicles all in pretty mint condition in my parents loft. Do I give them to my son and let him totally ruin them....or just leave them there?
It's a tough one....He's just starting to like the films and loves the lightsaber he has, and I know I had the best childhood with my toys, I want him to be feel the same way...but that was a whole different time...things have changed just a bit too much for him to really appreciate all those wonderful toys!

Dunno?!?! I've always said I wouldn't let my kids play with my old SW toys..but it seems a waste to just leave them there.
