The Clone Wars (2008 animated tv series) - a general discussion thread

I am really not surprised. The "movie" did bad because parents didn't want to dish out ten dollars for a ticket. And so many people were unsure about it. The TV show was free, so anyone could feed their curiousity for free.

Mmm ....not in the UK though. We poor bastards have to subscribe to the movie channels to watch the bloody thing!

Still, I'm one of those who did take their kid to watch the film (although he fell asleep as soon as it started) and didn't think it was that bad at all. So I'm actually quite looking forward to seeing the TV series when it finally airs over here...which should be in a couple of weeks.

I think we all need to realise that Adywan will make the changes he wants to make, not the ones we'd like to make. I agree that recent posts have started to sound very Lucasian in their approach - 'let's stick more of these in and ram home the fact that they're doomed' or dropships, debris etc.

Let's stick to the basics - ESB needs very little work save a great colour correction and minor additions and it'll be worthy of Empire magazine's 3rd place accolade in the Filmmaker's All-Time Top 500.

PS I'm with Hotrod though....that snowflake on Chewie's foot needs to go - it's even in the space slug sequence! :p

Exactly on all accounts!!

Am I the only one to see the irony in people who normally spit on George Lucas' name for adding all sorts of unnecessary things to the OT are now suggesting adding all sorts of unnecessary things to ESB? :)

Many of you have said that ESB is damn near perfect. Why not just leave it alone, and let Adywan do what he set out to do (correct the color, fix mistakes, and snip out things he doesn't like)? All of these suggestions ("Add more Imperials! Let's see more Rebel deaths! I want to see Luke Skywalker eating a Twinkie! Get rid of that snowflake on Chewbacca's foot!") are neat as a concept, but are either unworkable (for one man on his single PC) or just plain unnecessary.

IMHO, of course. :)

I agree....apart from the snowflake on Chewie's foot...that's always bugged me, as did the sand on the Wookie's foot, but that never did get fixed!!

Steering things somewhat back on topic....

Is it against the rules for adywan to do some kind of raffle to help raise money for equipment? The prize could be an original signed Star Wars painting by the man himself. I know I would buy a few raffle tickets for that. Or is that considered profiting from your fan-edit (even though no one is paying for a copy of said fan-edit)? If doing a fan-edit trashes your computer, fans chipping in to fix it isn't really profit, it's recouping losses, right?

Just a thought.

Adywan is no stranger to taking donations. He has a Paypal account to donate to at any time. Though eBaying his painting would be awesome, but if I was him, I'd want to keep it.

So far ady has acquired and new processor, monitor, car, house, and err a ...cuddly toy!

Not bad at all!!
