There was a Boba Fett action figure released pre-ESB.
My assumption was that:
It was initially made because he "appeared" in A New Hope. The release of the action figure was delayed then because the footage was cut.
Then, presumably when ESB was announced, they started to release the figure, with a little addition to the packaging, saying he was a "new character in Empire Strikes Back".
Man!!
Boba Fett was added to the SE.
He was not in the original footage.
If anyone can get hold of "From Star Wars to Jedi. The making of a saga" - which I have, they show the whole clip of the original guy standing in for Jabba. No Fett!!

Too much cgi..mmm.......Van Helsing, had to much cgi and it looked bad, so bad.
I'm not gonna start slagging of Star Wars coz I love it, but OT had puppets, the PT has CGI...
So who really gives a fuck.
As long as the story is good.
