Fondest Memory from the OT Days
Time
I'm not old enough to have been aroundin the early 80s heyday myself, but to me Star Wars was just as important as anything else when I was 8. No one i've met really seems to remember, but TBS used to show the Trilogy at Christmas time for about 3-4 years ('93-'96; perhaps longer, I can't remember when they stopped it) but I would always so thankful to have it during that time because no other Christmas movie on tv ever made me feel more like it really was Christmas time than Star Wars (I didn't have any of the VHS tapes; in fact, the only Star Wars VHS I have ever owned is recorded from those airings)

But one thing in particular will always be with me from that was that when it would cut back in from commercial, it would always say (in addition to a little graphic) in a loud and important voice, "...and now back to the Star Wars Trilogy"

That's the hardest part about Christmas now, today everything is different. There's no action. I have to sit around and watch old Christmas movies that everyone else watches. Can't even get Star Wars anymore. It's bad enough that if it is back on it's the special editions....but at least now, thanks to this forum, I can still ensure that Star Wars will always be on for the holidays.

The Jedi/Feta Definitive Collection (Released)
Time
Watching it again, I can see the resemblance to Shatner's voice. However, if it is him, he must've been instructed to speak with an unnatural faux-British accent and then was pitch-shifted down, because his voice is much lower than I've ever heard it before and it doesn't sound like whoever is doing is is trying to lower his voice.

Is there any way to maybe re-phase shift it so that we could all prove it once & for all? For instance, could the same technique used in phase shifting the 4% PAL speedup to NTSC be done here?

a thought. BTW, boba, the set looks awesome.

What is the REAL reason George doesn't want anyone to see the O-OT?
Time
I think it could be because his ex-wife Marcia Lucas edited the original movies and even won an Oscar for ANH while George Lucas lost. The SE were re-edited by other people. It could be because George hated his ex-wife, and it really sucks to be jealous of someone you hate.

I have heard a funny/sad thing about his ex-wife (depending on your point of view). If you ever get to Skywalker Ranch, you should never ever say ANYTHING about the stained glass windows. If GL happens to be nearby and hears you, you would be thrown out at once and banned for life.
The reason is that his ex-wife married one of the guys who built the windows ...
I was amazed when I heard this the first time, but it has been confirmed by several people.

Wow, i've never thought about THAT connection..very interesting. Where did you hear the rumors about the stained glass from Lars?
