Lucas worshipping moron. I am getting sick and tired of reading this kind of nonsense.

He has indeed fallen to the dark side.

I tried to boycott EpIII but couldn't...I have failed...I am weak and pathetic

I for one also boycotted it...yet I have succeded...I am strong and resilient.

By the way, in contrast to Smith, anyone care what filmmaker(s) of our day hasn't lost the faith? Trey Parker & Matt Stone of course!

When asked about "Star Wars," most celebs rarely brought up the controversial prequels. When they did, the memories were often unpleasant. Such sentiments were summed up by "South Park" creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone when they were asked what they'll remember.

"The original 'Star Wars' movies," said Parker.

"Yeah," echoed Stone. "The feeling I had when I liked it."

"That movie was our religion," said Parker. "It was basically saying, 'Hey, there's this power out there, and we can all sort of tap into it, and it's us and it's everything, and anyone can do this.' And then suddenly the new ones came out, and it's like, 'Well, no, it's all genetics. It's all in your blood.' "
"Horrible," Stone said of the prequels. "Beyond all the wooden acting and the stupid fights and all the terrible scripts, the very core of 'Star Wars' was ruined in these new ones. The idea that you're born with the force is so anti the original 'Star Wars.' Even though George Lucas made them all, he's wrong."

When asked which character they hate the most, Parker doesn't miss a beat: "Anyone in the prequels."
"Anything in any of the new ones," Stone agreed. "They don't exist to me. I don't even know what you're talking about. The new 'Star Wars' don't exist in my reality. Lucas is just an insane guy up in San Francisco now."

Lucas Finally Decides to Get AFI's Honor
Time
I'll tune in to watch Shatner do that number; sounds great. I've always thought he was good fun with his singing, though I must say his Has Been actually doesn't fall into that catagory & is in fact a terrific album.

Other than that i'll pass.

Lucas joked that he started out not being able to write a word, but became "the king of wooden dialogue."

No shit.

Um....a few years ago, Kevin hosted the Star Wars fanfilms award. This was an OFFICIALLY sanctioned LucASSfilm event, which means that KS has been in contact with the people at LucASSfilms.

Yes I agree with you there...getting so close to that source of evil I think has ruined him. By the way, anyone ever see the one that Lucass picked out as his favorite piece? It was dogshit!

Star Wars: Classic Edition by Ocpmovie (Released)
Time
Okay i'm really excited about this version; hopefully ocpmovie will get my PM soon...
In the meantime, from those who have already seen it (or ocpmovie), how did Han shoot first in this edition? Is the scene from the LD? Likewise which version was used for the duel between Obi-Wan & Vader? Hopefully one with the sabers as they originally were and not the 2004 DVD enhanced ones yes?And finally, i'm sure this will be obvious, but, do tell me that Luke's lightsaber on the ship is not green...

Things you DID NOT like about Episode III
Time
Pagz,

Wonderful post!!...your sense of continuity is so spot on the money. And your sarcasm. I'm glad there are at least some others out there who hate Lucas's trying to make Star Wars into 'It's A Small World'...

From what you've said I think you might love the link I have in my sig...
It's the absolute best one i've ever read & the best that will ever be written on the matter in my opinion.
The guy is a true stalwart of the faith.

Haven't heard it. How does a score for a novel work?

It pretty much follows the pacing of the book very well and I was surprised that anyone that wasn't John Williams make something Star Wars. It's really interesting becuase the composer (Joel McNeely) had to straddle the bridge musically from Empire while building toward Jedi (without borrowing any themes from it either), and all the while innovate and pace it with the book. As the book is actually pretty dark, most of the music is the same and thus there is this iciness throughout it that is supremely interesting because in Shadows you don't only have the evil of the Empire, but also of Xizor's equally vast syndicate. The final sequence is utterly grandiose with Xizor's palace being toppled and the music swelling in and out...reaaly top-notch.

But the most incredible thing again is that you can listen to the entire trilogy and if you do put this one in between Empire & Jedi, you really can hear the story progress...

however, is in ROTJ when Luke unloads on Vader after the "If you will not turn to the dark side, then perhaps she will" line. That scene gives me chills every time, mainly b/c of the music. Not your typical action music, but a hauntingly beautiful, building string motif with male vocals that perfectly complements what's happening onscreen (Luke getting dangerously close to the dark side). To me, that scene is pure Star Wars.

Oh my thoughts & feelings exactly! Amazingly haunting every time.
Beside from that i'm partial to the Ewoks theme, Han's encasing, etc...but thats why it's Star Wars though; all the Etc is respectively amazing/perfect to boot.

Perhaps a better question would be what bits might you dislike? Speaking of scores though, anyone ever hear the score set to Shadows of the Empire? That was definetly a refreshing & most intruiging listen for me at any rate...much better than any of the prequel music at least.
