Oh well, it isn't going to be everyone's cup of tea. But if you'd seen it around the time period it was released, you more than likely would have a higher opinion of it. (I think?) shrug.

Caribbean caricature? Jar Jar didnt sound like no Rastafarian to me. Far from it. Just sounded like a dumb, lame attempt at a comedic, American talking fish.

It is a cult classic. And your right, the film is very similar to the beginning of the Matrix. Like I said, I haven't watched it in years but always recall loving it the first time I saw it. Great cast too. Richard O'Brien has always been a favourite.

On my way home from work earlier and dropped in on a friend i havent seen in a while to see how he's been. We cracked open a beer and was sitting in his garden chatting when his phone rings and he gets up and disappears into his house to chat. Anyway, I wandered into his front room to just to see what was on the TV (which was on) and noticed his DVD collection. Looking through I came across this, which I haven't seen in a gazillion years! It's now been well and truly borrowed by yours truly! ;)
With Red Dwarf, I think the series waned after 7 because Rob Grant left the writing team and it was just Doug Naylor on his own.

I've seen every series C3PS. 9 and 10 and Back to Earth were ok, but for me the series hit comedy heights with 4 through to 7. Those are my personal favourites. If your a fan then 9 and 10 are worth a watch. Have you seen Back to Reality?

I've been catching up with Red Dwarf. Watching a couple of episodes, sometimes just the one every night. On series 2 now, and tonight it's Queeg 500. One of my all time favourites.

I too haven't seen it. The 'realistic' approach is never going to work with a character like 'Superman'. Batman, yeah, because he's a regular guy and you can pull it off. I would like to see a Superman reboot done in the same vein as Raimi's Spidey version. He captured the spirit of it perfectly.
