I've love to see those interviews in their original length.
I've love to see those interviews in their original length.
You're on a site called originaltrilogy.com telling people voicing concerns about changes to Star Wars to stop complaining, and followup by telling anyone who takes time to articulate their disagreement with you in detail, that they obviously have personal problems.
And I need to calm down?
Again, just, please, stop throwing mud. If you don't like to argue your opinion, there are plenty of other forums out there where you can go and do just that and not be accosted by people who take you "way too seriously".
Please stop.
Zombie, I'd love to graph that stuff out. You've got my mail address if you're interested.
I had the exact same experience today, watching Harmy's Star Wars version. I'd forgotten just how many small things had been changed throughout the film over the years.
If it's a matter of making some sort of time-warp retro-active tradeoffs, I'd like to use the Greedo shot first scene(s) and the Jabba deleted scene(s) as well as one instance of an R2 unit and a couple of NOooooo's as currency to buy new lightsabers all around ^_^
On the list of things that 'need' changing, I see that as being way down there. Let's start with fixing lightsabers across the board. If they can't do that; I think a reshoot is asking a bit much.
Detail reference. Certainly not color reference :)
And I couldn't agree more re. the image and sound quality.
Your powers of rhetoric and observation are mine far superior.
Was there any reason given?
What does that even mean in this context?
You're in a forum on a site that was created expressly to bring about the release of the unaltered original trilogy of films. I think perhaps you need to adjust your expectations, and possibly your forum conduct.
That's a simplistic argument to say the least. There are plenty of things in the box-set that is of great interest to OT die hards, such as the deleted scenes, better quality docus than we've previously had access to, commentaries and interviews a plenty, including a bunch of new concept art I hadn't seen before. It all happens to have been presented in a pretty lackluster way, and the set as a whole is oddly missing some of the best pieces out there, such as Empire of Dreams and From Star Wars to Jedi, just to mention two of the most obvious ones.
That the films have been scarred, yet again, is a separate matter, but even if I flinch every time a change rolls across my screen, which I do, whether you like me complaining about it or not, these are still the best copies of the films available, and as such they still have value as just that. Reference.
Perhaps it's time you quit your paradoxical complaining about our complaining?

Now if only he felt the same about the movies proper.
Amen.
I would very much like to see a source on the Williams rumor, if anyone has it.
Yeah, I enjoy the format just fine; it's the films I have a problem with :D
Aaaaand derailed.
Well it's probably not untrue; the prequels and the clone wars series is embedded in a very different demographic than the original trilogy.
Taun taun :)
The common argument between the people who like it seems to be that it ties his choice between his wife, and now his son, together. United, under one NOOOOOOOOooooo.
That is strange; because it definitely doesn't sound like JEJ.
I find it hard to believe that the 'You could use a good kiss' line is gone... Will check when I get home.
There's also a funny segment from the OT extras where Lucas is talking about the force, briefing what looks like a group of very bored Clone Wars series directors or some such. He talks about how the dark side is about wanting power, and how power is about possession, and how possession leads to fear and so on.
Which is funny, because Lucas is so possessive of his film, to the chagrin of his very own fans... And given that there's an entire documentary about the real-world stormtroopers...
Well... I'm just saying...
"Ooooops!"
There's a piece on the prequel extras disc about bluescreen, which honestly looks like a defense against the criticism of its use.
What does that mean?
