Does you know if someone has done a comparison between the old and new Vader costumes? I really hate the Vader that has been in use since Episode III, and I'd like to have a closer look at what exactly the changes that irk me so were.

As near as I can tell, the helmet was certainly shortened and possible slightly remodelled. I seem to recall someone defending the choices as being 'to make him look newly minted' and 'the old helmet was never satisfactorily modelled' or something to that effect.

Yeah, I gotta say, I really wish your site wasn't flash. It's just so... clunky. And it doesn't work for me either :(

Did Joe Johnston sketch the Star Destroyer first, or did Cantwell do the first prototype from Lucas's notes alone? There's a great quote on page 67 of The Secret History of Star Wars where Lucas says he read all the sci-fi magazines he could get his hands on around 73-74, which is right when this was first published, so it seems plausible that he saw this and passed it on.

I don't mean to imply anything unsavory, I simply found the resemblance striking.

Is it just me, or is the Star Wars Archives site broken? A lot of the pages are just black, and there's nothing to see. The embedded video player has a 'larger' icon, but it has a tendency to move the video around in the browser and just generally behaves annoyingly. And I'm not even going to mention the music :(

The promise of so much cool stuff... :(

Neo, are you still around? I applied for the forums, but I haven't heard anything back yet. You talked about putting up hi-res images there, and I'd love to get my hands on them.

Same here. That was one kids show that didn't pull its punches, what with most of the earth destroyed and what not...

I caught a bit of it on Youtube a short while back, and I was surprised at how good it actually was.

Last I frequented that site, years ago, it was open. Almost sad to see it cordoned off like that.
