A question, and a comment:
What is a G'KAR?
Regarding the matte lines, there are two schools of thought. When I first saw them, I was surprised, because I never saw them in the theater. If their exposure is a byproduct of conversion to home video, then removing them is actually an act of preservation of the original theatrical experience.
But I understand your wanting to put them back in. Everyone has their own original experiences and it's good that so many of them are being restored.
G'KAR a recording of a German SD anamorphic digital broadcast of the 97SE. It's is not a very good quality, but it seems to be the best there is for 97SE Jedi.
And I'm pretty sure the matte lines must have been there in the cinema, it's just that people wouldn't notice them, because they weren't looking for them. I remember reading a review of the 97SE, where the guy complained about them not fixing the Rancor matte lines after he saw the SE in the cinema.

Harmy, I would like to check this out, hopefully this weekend if JDownloader will play nicely for me. Can you PM the links to the NTSC DVD5 please?
PM sent
Can you remind me, as it's been a while since I read through the thread, does the NTSC DVD have the GOUT audio (the '93 mix 2-channel Dolby Surround)? But hairy_hen's 5.1 mix will sync to iy?
It does sync to h_h's mix but it won't fit to a DVD5 with it.
Also did you use msycamore's Jabba subtitles?
No, but there are burnt in white subs.
BTW. Goddamn!!! Could you guys stop this thing with the avatars!!!
No, it's really simple. Here's a step by step guide:
http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/burn_avchd_with_imgburn.cfm
And sorry I didn't upload the Jabba clip yet but I noticed some things I want to fix first, like when Han steps on Jabba's tail (urgh...) there's something weird going on with his hair. And maybe rotoscope HD Boba Fett into the end of the last shot.
@Diego: How about using ImgBurn on some kind of Windows emulator? Or maybe using a friend's computer?
Thanks guys, I'm happy you like it :-)
I already started working on STAR WARS. While waiting for the HD upscales of GOUT, I'm using whatever there is to use in the 97SE.
@Diego: Isn't there something like ImgBurn for Mac?
@hairy_hen: I will try contacting Chewtobacca, he did this for me before, so maybe he could either do it or walk me through it.
@TK-949: Sure, I can upload a HQ mp4 later today (no time now). It's only 720p but I think that even for a 1080p edit, it would be better to do something like this in 720p and then upscale.
@rockin: Actually, there's less and less HD in every shot. In the first shot, just Jabba and his immediate surroundings (the 04 Jabba is bigger) are 97SE DVD and in the one before last shot of Jabba, the whole right half of the picture is 97SE DVD and in the last shot, only Han's head and neck are HD but it makes a huge difference.
Thanks for the review mikeveli :-)
OK, guys, I wanted to release this as just a basic NTSC DVD5 for those who don't have HD equipment yet but I tried several methods of conversion and it looks like crap compared to some HD to DVD conversions I saw. Could anybody help me with this?
Thanks for the review :-)

My beamer only works at 720p, so I can't tell, if there is much loss from the 1080p versions. The picture is sometimes a bit on the soft side (also the special edition material), but overall you're decision to render in 720p seems to be right for the material, since the jumps in quality are not as big.
I actually compared it to the previous 1080p PDE and due to compression in most places there's less detail than in this 720p version.
My only two nitpicks are more about the color correction, which is as far as I know based on Adywans version anyway:
Just to be clear, I used Ady's 14GB mkv as a high quality source but the colours are substantially different from it. There isn't a single shot where the colour stayed the same as in Ady's version. I'm just saying this so that any problems you may find with the colours aren't assigned to Ady, he's completely innocent :-D
Yeah, I just wanted a sound to go with it and didn't really try too hard to sync it :-)
Here's a little experiment of mine :-)
The link I posted is a direct link to an offline installer for Windows, so there should be no such problem with it.
Yeah, nor me.
Try here.
(I hope I'm not breaking any rules by putting the link here, since it's a free program).
Sure, I'll do that soon :-)
PMs sent guys, and have patience, I don't know why MU does this now, it used to be great but hopefully you'll all be able to download it, my JDownloader says all the links are online.
PM sent :-)

Anyone else having trouble downloading? jDownloader keeps giving me the error: "The file you are trying to access is temporarily unavailable", specifically for files 9 and 10.
Yeah, that sadly happens lately with MU, just download the others and try again later.

I put in both CZ dubs simply because there was space for them. This gives anyone space to replace them with any desired soundmix.
Hi Harmy. Maybe it has been written elswhere, but is there a way or a program to exchange sound-files in an AVCHD project, without doing any recoding to the rest?
Yes, it's actually very easy with TS Muxer.
EDIT: All PMs are hopefully sent. If I forgot anyone, please let me know.
