Yeah, those wipes must have been redone, as the shots were digitally recomposited.

Those look very, very nice Harmy! and can't wait to see the menu covers, I should have a screenshot for you very soon, he is getting it soon, and you captured EXACTLY what I was looking for, Thank you.
I'm happy that you like them :-)
Thank you also for respecting my wishes on the distribution of these covers for this set, I really appreciate that very much, you have turned out to be 1 Hell of a partner and Friend.
That feeling is mutual. It was all I could do to repay your help with my edits, so thank you :-)
If the files are ISO, you'll need Deamon Tools or something similar to mount them in order to play them in a computer and then you can either play them as a disc or go to BMDV/STREAM and play the mt2s file.
There's one zoomed in shot in the Yavin battle, which I can just easily replace from the HD source because the original shot was repeated several times. It's no biggie but with all the other things and considering I still have all the files, I thought why not.
Yeah, I'm working on it.
I'll see about that one.
I already tried that but because of it being further from the camera in the first shot, it looks just as bad as the GOUT when you zoom in on it for that shot.
Here are the barcode covers:
Please don't ask me for links to the full res versions, DJ wishes to distribute them only with the set and I fully respect that.
No. These are the tapes I was talking about:
That's interesting, I've never seen the one you linked to. Moth3r?

Interesting. Is it possible to rip the sound from these?
Looks like LD to me.
And what the heck is 2.1 mono? That doesn't make sense to me.
I mean, could this be for real?:

The guy who posted it claims that they are straight screenshots from VLC.
But some of the others he posted didn't look that bad and they definitely looked beautiful in terms of detail.
Yeah, I saw some pictures and the clarity is awesome compared to the theatrical version but I didn't much like the colours. But it is quite possible that those screens were exaggerated on purpose. And after what we've seen with STAR WARS, the argument that colour timing was approved by the director means very little to me. I was hoping someone could post actual TE vs EE comparison screenshots from the actual blu-rays (ideally some well chosen pics representative of various sequences).
And re the ROTJ graininess:
I found the 04HD transfer of ROTJ to be the grainiest of the trilogy. But that may ironically be because it was the least grainy and least damaged one, so it had the least extensive cleanup. The 04 transfer of ROTJ has a lot of fine grain. I was actually surprised how much film grain there is in all the 04 transfers when you have a high bitrate HD. People sometimes make it sound like it was DVNRed all the way to hell, which is definitely not the case. I actually think the clean up job done by Lowry on the 04 transfers is superb, especially given the limited time they had to do it, the problem with those transfers is the rather horrible colour issues, which seem to not be caused by Lowry.
Yeah, that's ugly...
Also re: the LOTR talk:
Seems like it's time to revive this thread: http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.cfm/Lord-of-the-Rings-Trilogy-Extended-Edition-coming-to-Blu-Ray/topic/12796/
Seems like it's time to revive this thread:
So, the blus are out and apparently even though the new FOTR transfer is much better than the old one in terms of detail but there seems to be some colour timing issues. Anybody got any closer info on it?
Yes, I will, those artefacts brought forth by the brightening are far worse than the crushed blacks.
Found another zoomed in shot in the Yavin battle. It's at 1:49:33 NTSC GOUT time. It's the same shot as the other one only this one's a bit longer.
Actually SW v2.0 will come first. It's actually almost finished, I still have all the files in my computer) and want to get rid of them to have more space for working on Jedi), so I just needed to fix those few issues and there's one or two FX shots I'd like to improve, so it could be done sometime next week. And I'm still waiting for some clips for Jedi anyway.
Yeah, there were quite a few issues pointed out and I just found another change that I didn't fix, so v2.0 is now officially in the works... :-(
I'm going home for the holidays, so everything will take ages to upload too... :-/
I think they used the same master for both versions of LOTR on DVD, only adding the new scenes to EE and that same master was used for the TE Blu-Ray, while FOTR was remastered for the EE Blu-Ray.
