OK, cool. There's definitely no hurry :-)
OK, cool. There's definitely no hurry :-)
That would be cool, thanks :-)
Oh, man, if you mean the Outbound flight, that would be a huge mistake to skip it IMO, because it's pretty awesome and the only thing it has in common with the prequels is that it's the same time period. And it has Thrawn in it!
Nope. 1995 was probably the last time he gave a rats ass about his fans.
I wonder, Anchorhead (assuming you still read this thread) what you thought about the Hand of Thrawn books in the end. And did you read any of the other Zahn's STAR WARS books?
Well, it's great for multi-tasking - like when I'm doing some mind-numbing work on the edit, shuffling dots around for hours, I can listen to it and the time passes by nicely. I also have quite a good visual imagination and since when I'm listening, the visual part of the brain isn't occupied, I can vividly imagine those events as if I was watching a movie, so that's pretty cool :-)
I definitely prefer the narrator to do straightforward reading rather than change voices and stuff. And I hate when they add sound effects and music, which in the SW audio books is unfortunately quite common. Luckily the Thrawn Trilogy unabridged audio books fall into the first category - I have them digitized from audio cassettes, so I'm not sure if they ever came out in any other format.
Again, still not quite exactly the original but closer:
Sounds likely.
Sorry, didn't know that. I'm not into EU that much. The Solo trilogy is definitely the only EU written by a woman out of what I've read - at least I think so, in English it is sometimes difficult to know from a name.
Thanks guys. Yeah, I noticed the lobster face. I might still try to fix it but no promises :-)
Thanks :-)
I was never quite happy with this shot but I tried to fix it a few times and never successfully and now I finally managed (well, it's still not perfect but at least the things that bothered me most are gone):
I'm just about to finish re-reading (well, actually re-listening, as I've got it as audio books) the Thrawn Trilogy for about a 10th time and I just love every bit of it! The Trawn's Hand duology was pretty great too IMO, and I don't think one would miss much of the info in the other books. Everything else from Zahn was awesome as well. The only other EU I really liked and ever returned to was the Han Solo trilogy, which is very interestingly written, and quite unique in EU, perhaps because it was written by a woman.
Yeah, right, that's true :-)
Well, actually it's not so prominent in that particular shot but in many shots in the Yavin battle the interior of Vader's tie is pink/magenta rather than red.
Well, actually, Corruscant is far from being a prequel creation - it was created by T. Zahn in his Thrawn trilogy and it was first shown in the 97SE of ROTJ. But I totally agree with the basic sentiment of not adding anything that was prominent in the PT.
Yeah, I thought about it, unfortunately, it's not as easy as it sounds, because the shot is pretty screwed up in the GOUT.
Yes, I did, because it is on the GOUT and it seems to be a part of the sabre element that got there by accident when they were making the original effect.
Oh, btw, is the print perhaps a little faded? There seems to be a bit of pink tint in all the highlights (probably most noticeable on the Falcon heading to Yavin shot).
Yes, setting delay definitely sounds like a better option than trimming.
Only if they're 27 and 36ms out of sync on the GOUT DVDs as well.
Oh, yeah, it's hard to time it to the Fox logo, because it fades in and out gradually, so it's hard to tell when the first frame actually appears. So what I always do is time the beginning to the first frame where the STAR WARS logo appears :-)
Yes, they do. The fact that they're based on HDTV captures doesn't mean squat. They are in frame for frame sync with the GOUT :-)
It's actually really old, I just want to redo it in true HD using footage from your scans when they're done :-)
