Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD - V2.7 - MKV (Released)
Time

OK, to the stars - they stay this bright. This is not a whim of mine or anything, it's based on hard evidence that some of you may have seen. All evidence points towards the stars being this bright in the original; even the GOUT stars are this bright, only the faded levels make them kind of greyish but they are this big.

@jabbo5150: Thank you :-)

Manually color correcting the Blu-rays?

To nightstalkerpoet you don't listen, prefer the BD Krayt Dragon call he does ;-)

But seriously, I'm afraid you'll need to experiment because every TV has a different set of possible settings, so no one can really tell you what exactly to do. Generally, you may want to brighten it but not above the point where blacks become milky (you need a correct balance of brightness and contrast). The opening stardestroyer flyby could be good for this - play with the brightness and contrast settings, so that the stars get brighter but space remains black and the whites on the stardestroyer don't get too blown out.

My TV has separate RGB settings, so if yours does too, you can slightly increase red and decrease blue (Tantive IV coridors could be a good guide for this).

You might wanna decrease saturation a bit.

That's about all I can tell you.

Star Wars weekend with Garry Kurtz in Edinburgh
Time

Anyone going? I'd love to go but I don't think I could afford it - it would be awesome. Two days of SW with Garry Kurtz (who's kind of anti Lucas) in the best city I know in the world - that's the dream!

This would be a great opportunity to get Garry even more on our side, maybe present some of the fan projects to him and stuff.

Thanks guys.

I don't see the flicker. Anybody else sees this? Can you give a time where that happens? The pandown is a 2D animation of a premade matte and I didn't manipulate it's brightness in AE, so there shouldn't be any flicker.

@Flynn: By a rough estimate, all the work that went into this clip took about 10 hours. With the crawl and receding logo about 30hrs.

Now, that's it, no surprise video today! Don't cry, you brought it upon yourselves!

Just kidding, today was pretty hectic (last minute xmas shopping and stuff) and I didn't have time to finish what I wanted.

Also, I tried and there's no way I'm redoing that starfield, it's just too much fuss. It looks fine to me, since it's a part of a pan down, it's not a cut or even a fade.
