Star Wars Colortiming & Cinematography (was What changes was done to STAR WARS in '93?)

Wow, that deran print looks amazing for 8mm, it's hard to believe it could hold so much detail and that's only a blurry photo of a screen. I believe this would be a much better source for a home film projection preservation than the 16mm print Puggo used, if only because it seems to have awesomely preserved colours (I can vouch for them being very accurate).

Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD - V2.7 - MKV (Released)

Yeah, like I said before, I tried predicting how long it would take and was terribly wrong (I believe I predicted a couple of weeks being left like half a year ago :-D ) And even though it may not seem that way, I do have a life, so it will take as long as other stuff will allow.

But we're getting there, I now have all the materials I need, so there will be no more waiting for anything.

@ stst415: 1) Welcome to the forum. and 2) Yes, absolutely. Though it may be worth burning ESB and JEDI v1.0, because I'm definitely taking a break after I finish STAR WARS. After the break, I think I'll do Jedi v2.0 next, because there will be very few changes from v1.0 other than the quality increase from using the BD as a source and Premiere for editing, so it should be a quicker job.

@CatBus: That's interesting. It's definitely true about the noisiness, I noticed it with my BD player, though I don't understand why that is. Can anyone explain? It seems logical to me that if you have the film compressed to fill a disc of the same physical size, the information required to show say one second of the film should take up the same size physical area on the disc, only on DVD it will be less actual information but the rotation speed should then be the same.

Thank you guys.

To the covers, no I don't plan to release the source files, for several reasons; A) they're pretty huge, B) they're really messy but mainly C) I'm quite proud of the design and I'd like the covers to stay the way they are and I definitely don't want them to be used with something else than the Despecialized Edition, I'm sure you'll understand.

regrading/editing original trilogy using blu-rays and german hdtv streams to remove bad but not all specialised/blu-ray changes (* unfinished project *)

The way I understand it, dts-hd contains the dts core track + extentions to make it lossless, so there should be no need for adding a separate dts core soundtrack. On the other hand, I think that even on the official BD, the video track itself is only about 30GB, so maxing out the bitrate to fill the disc seems to be a bit overkill.

As for what program I use, it's my little secret (mostly because I don't want Dark Jedi, Harmy and other editors here taking the piss) but its neither of those two you mentioned, I tried changing to Vegas Pro recently and it seemed way too complicated for me. I haven't tried Adobe Premiere but I'm guessing its also very complicated with a steep learning curve.

LOL, I can relate. I have been using Power Director for all my projects until SW v2.0 :-) I too tried Vegas and found it too complicated so I gave up for a while and stuck with Power Director, but then when I found out the PD is just not gonna cut it for v2.0, I tried Premiere and it's great and it made things so much easier too, I can do a lot of stuff that I couldn't before and it was surprisingly easy to learn.
