Okay, I'm just getting annoyed with the gushers on TFn. I've been restraining myself for a while, but a poll on the Classic Trilogy forums was posted and this is what it said:

Poll Question: What is your favorite version of the original trilogy?
Total Votes: 60 (Days Left: 30)

Current Poll Results:
46%
Original Theatrical Editions (28 votes)
1%
1997 Special Editions (1 votes)
51%
2004 DVD Editions (31 votes)

For me personally, the 2004 DVD editions are the definitive versions of the saga. The redone Palpatine scene in The Empire Strikes Back and the extended ending for Return of the Jedi added a new depth to the movies and helped bridge the gap between the OT and the prequels.

I do still have a special fondness for the original cuts, because they were the first versions of the saga that I saw. And I also can't forget the SEs, as they're the only versions of the saga that I've seen in theaters.

That's a skewing of the poll. But read further, the SE and '04 gushers only care about better picture better sound. They do not once argue for the re-edits, or how good or bad they are.

I'm probably going to get a ban warning soon after starting up against some idiots on the forums there.

Lindsay Lohan wants to play Wonder Woman - Brought to you by IMDB
Time
Not at 19.

I reallly think Morena Bacarin who played Inara on Firefly and Serenity should be Wonder Woman.

Interesting thing last year at the Serenity panale, a fan said told Gina Torres she was an awesome actress always playing such strong female characters (she's about 5'11") and would be perfect for Wonder Woman. Joss Whedon said "I don't know, she may have to fight over it with Morena." Could have been a joke, coulda been a hint.

I saw this at an early screening at Wondercon. I really liked it and how much it actually stuck to the graphic novel rather than deviate from it. I saw it again opening night in IMAX.

One thing to look out for, the credits say, based on the graphic novel Illustrated by David Lloyd. Not writen by Alan Moore. I guess Alan didn't want anything to do with the project, but at the same time isn't speaking out against it either, which is probably as good as we're gonna get. I'm sure after the mess of things like League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, he won't have much to do with movie adaptations anymore.

Dang, my 100th post and it has nothing to do with Star Wars...

I post on TFN quite a lot actually, never realized how much until I checked. But that is for various reasons 1) I'm a former City Council member for the San Francisco Fan Force, still active, just now free of responsibilities 2)Bashers Sanctuary, 3)There is an O-OT thread that gets infiltrated every once in a while and I feel it is my duty to lay a nice little smack down on any post '97 gushers and PT fans there. I especially had to respond to someone who not only thinks that the PT is a better series, but wants the O-OT to look more like the PT. But it's true that TFN is now filled with fans who are just there on the bandwagon because of the Prequels, and the actions of their mods reflect that.

That doesn't mean I have to run away and hide from them. I don't troll, indulge in baiting, or personal attacks. But I don't hold back in my opinions about what utter garbage has been spewed forth from LucasCorp and his minions. I also feel it is my duty to remind fans where they came from, what brought them to where they are, not to let them forget the original trilogy as it existed when the world was good and the movies were pure, not the raped and discarded maidens that now lay on the side of the road that Lucas has thrown down with disdain.

Has anybody made custom covers for the EditDroid set. I don't seem to see on buried in the threads. But then again my vision may be a little wonky.

When you say "custom", are you talking about covers other than the "official" editdroid covers? I can get these to you if needed.

Or the official EditDroid covers. I haven't seen them. Or if I did it's buried somewhere in my meory.

WOW!

Just got the import 2-DVD set of "Game of Death" from the U.K. in the mail, and on the second DVD there is a montage of deleted fight scenes with the real Bruce Lee from the 1972 pagoda fight. This is not the same footage as used in "A warrior's journey".
This is allot like a bloopers real and has some great shots of Bruce being cocky .

You MUST include this in your project 5acrifice. That is, if you want all the Game of Death footage.

FF

I think I have some of that same footage on my Fortune Star set, and it even has video montages set to music of just the fights.

unfortunetely you will have to buy both collector's editions if you want all the extras.

the first limited edition was only star wars and empire and had radio ads by threepio and the making of radio drama. this was limited to 5000 copies only and is harder to find now. the coolest part is mark hamill interview in the making of segment.

the limited edition trilogy had only return of the jedi supplements. it was limited to 7,500 numbered copies

THat's the one I have. Paid about %50 for it on ebay.

What scene in the (O-)OT do you hate/dislike the most?

Welcome to the forums, Jorge.

As you cruise around, you'll find that there are those still fighting the good fight. And yes I still have a Laser Disc playerr, so I can truthfully tell the FBI, "no sir these DVDs are just copies off of Laser disc. We can go about our business." If you want a good reference for the original '77 classic, I highly recommend Deleted Magic.
