Rationalize it all you want, she’s still boring.
Rationalize it all you want, she’s still boring.
you think most people are anyway.
What’s a word for “higher than most but lower than all?”
Overwhelming majority?
I mean, you can have a perfectly decent character and still find them boring. It’s really hard to state such a subjective feeling in objective terms, and that’s where a lot of these internet discussions kind of get trapped.
What stupidity did you witness, if you don’t mind my asking?
I just have very little in common with people my own age and it is increasingly frustrating. I don’t seem to have much in common with people of different ages either. No one just makes sense to me, and the people who do are dead or middle-aged comedians.
I am currently intensely aggravated towards the general human populace at the moment. I wish I had decent, rational people nearby to help numb the feelings I have when I witness stupidity.
I didn’t read it like that. The asterisk made it seem like he was being facetious, plus past tweets I’ve read from him here have been… a bit acerbic.
Reading that twitter thread just pissed me off. I can’t stand fans who say they don’t want the originals to be released and then mock anyone who does.
I truly do not understand such fans. I think I’m more a fan of film in general than Star Wars. The more I hear about the hardcore Star Wars fans, the more I want to distance myself from them.
Hey, who decides what is and isn’t legitimate?
So I assume this throws the whole ‘they’re waiting til after 2020’ argument out the window then correct??
Yes, it was never a factor to begin with.
The more I hear about this Paul guy, the less I like him. Kudos to him for at least saying something about it.
He’s typical of the Star Wars fans that act condescending towards everyone that doesn’t worship every single decision Lucasfilm makes.
Worshiping a company or brand is illogical and foolish, especially when you know what you want for yourself.
The more I hear about this Paul guy, the less I like him. Kudos to him for at least saying something about it.
What? Who?
Whoops, Pablo.
I never believed the idea that George had some special clause in the contract to not release the Originals, but now I’m starting to.
I’m not too sure. I think it’s money and interest.

Alderaan
Nonono, that’s Anchorhead. Alderaan was banned for being a nuisance.
A friend told me this takes more from the prequels than the originals… without the bad parts. I have no idea what that means.
At that point, why not just have a box set of I-VIII with a spot reserved for IX?
Handman, I apologize for my shitty tone, I just can’t help getting snippy over stuff like this two years later where the answer has been sitting right there the entire time. I’m sorry if this was something you honestly overlooked, but so many people who harp on Rey’s purportedly unearned prowess/savvy tend to willfully ignore these details just to sustain their arguments. The fact that you didn’t employ the dread M-S word should’ve been enough for me not to assume you were posting in bad faith, so again, sorry. It’s just frustrating that there are so many people out there who don’t want to get it.
Thanks. This is honestly the second time I’ve ever seen the film since its release in 2015, so I haven’t really spent much time thinking about it. I have no issues otherwise, it was just a weird moment for me that hinges more on the execution of the idea rather than the idea itself.
The Absolute Legend.
Ah, the part where Rey is more familiar with modifications her boss made years after Han lost the Falcon. Yeah, that doesn’t make any sense at all.
Look, I don’t need the condescending tone. Your point is noted, though it doesn’t seem like Rey really knew all that much about it otherwise. A minor quible and I get everyone clawing at my throat.
Condescension aside though his point is valid.
I agree. I hadn’t thought of it like that, though I’d rather Rey not undercut Han, the mentor character, pretty much right as he’s introduced. Story-wise it’s a bit odd to me. It’d be like if Luke had corrected Ben about the travelling methods of the sand people.
A minor quible and I get everyone clawing at my throat.
I’ve found it wise to tread lightly on the disliking of TFA…
Lmao, I said it was better than ROTJ.
It’s just one of those things that’s been brought up many times, and quite recently.
It’s something I hadn’t considered or noticed until this recent rewatch, hence me mentioning it again. I didn’t want to bring up any past discussion and I’m not the same people who previously mentioned it. It just felt a bit odd, among the other things I mentioned that have no doubt also been said before.
That’s funny. I love it when I’m not busy.
I think I’d appreciate being not busy if I were ever busy.

The part where Han looks like a doof and Rey bypasses the compressor. I don’t understand how you don’t see it.
I hate it when everyone else seems to be busier than me.
Wrong thread?
