Drat them.
Drat them.
How are Republicans projected to win more seats??
What do you look for in a friend?
The Awful Truth (1937) – Comfort viewing. I love the screwball genre and haven’t seen a bad one yet.
Yeah. Politicians don’t care about anything, just so long as you have a little R or D beside your name… It didn’t used to be this way.
I really wish this thread could be without the arguments we find elsewhere. This is not the place.
well, to me idealism is often times quite a good way to relieve pain. i won’t be posting in this thread anymore though.
Any particular reason why? I valued what you had to say quite a bit when you did.
People like Crowder only muddy the search for the facts. It’s a shame the media pays so much attention to all the name calling and yelling.
Yeah, when I said I found your statements comforting, it was because it felt like a reality check between statements of general positivity. A refreshing perspective. But going on and on, further down the rabbit hole, ends up helping no one. I’m a realist, not an optimist, and not a nihilist.
I can see where both you and Dom are coming from.
That’s not even necessarily true either. There’s plenty of assholes out there living easy, care-free lives whilst putting forth absolutely no effort.
You aren’t by chance Frank Grimes?
Even that isn’t a guarantee.
True, but you can’t give up.
Right. That’s why I don’t like it when people say things will get better. They won’t. You have to make it better. You have to work towards it.
You guys like to pile on against mfm when he talks like that, but I find it very comforting.
Yeah, I first started watching the show five years ago, starting with the first series, and it wasn’t dated at all for me… but looking back, it is now. However I do feel that Eccleston’s run was a definite high point, and much more consistent than Tennant, who was very hit-or-miss with me and the whole romance angle.
Cold comfort, but I am genuinely sorry to hear that, mfm.
Poe could find some time to sing Bill Murray’s Star Wars song.
Here is a very good read about mob rule, the internet, and the crumbling of democracy.
The Atlantic – America is Living James Madison’s Nightmare
“Had every Athenian citizen been a Socrates, every Athenian assembly would still have been a mob.”

Rewatched Two for the Road. Caught a few things I didn’t before. And that score…
To me, Jay sounds more like the Libertarians I know moreso than Republicans.
When you’re so far to the left that you can’t even see the center, everybody looks right-wing.
Are you talking about me? I don’t know if you’ve paid much attention, but whenever I talk about any issue here, nothing pleasant arises.
Frankly, if you’re calling me an extreme left-wing partisan, you should take a closer look.
Wait until you’re older.
To me, Jay sounds more like the Libertarians I know moreso than Republicans.
It wasn’t awful, I just wish the First Doctor was treated like an actual character more akin to the original show. As it was, he felt like a punchline.
If only I had a bigger paycheck to buy them all up now!
