Yeah, social media is terrible. But most seem content with it. We’re finally seeing a lot of backlash, mostly in the wake of the past election but it predates it a little.

It has its benefits. I remember a Marx Brothers Facebook group I was a part of, and it was fantastic, with some of the best, most notable Marx Bros. scholars in it. I don’t think they’d all go to a forum if they didn’t have their personal feed on the same site. But Facebook is no where near as organized and useful as your traditional forum.

Why? You can make an even better list. All you need is a keyboard which you clearly already have. It would make much more sense to be jealous of the contents of the list.

lol, jealousy and envy are two very different animals. But you’re right. I would love to see a print of Charade on the big screen, not to mention the other classics.

Right, but seeing as most seats up for re-election are held by Democrats… the chances are slim. I’m aware of the election, it just doesn’t make sense to push this guy through for any reason besides partisanship… it just makes me want to vote them all out now.

This post is not very articulate. It is very late and I am exhausted, but hopefully you get my meaning.

Regardless of whether or not he did it, the fact that there is no definitive proof he didn’t do it, and his behavior during his testimony, gives a rather poor impression of his character. I do not know why the Republicans have to stick with Kavanaugh with all this controversy. It would be so much simpler to just pick someone else.

I can help wondering if she really is a sexual assault survivor or some sort of actor.

i can’t help but wonder if all the senators are really senators or just some sort of actor.

Pretty sure they are all really senators. It is kinda difficult to fake being a senator. They each have to run for state wide election. Their faces are well known in their states.

Any female can say they are a sexual assault survivor.

yeah, they love to play the victim, am i right?

I don’t know what your point is. We know nothing about this woman that confronted the Senator. We have no idea if she is a victim or sexual assault or not. She could be some nut. Or someone in the Dems put her up to it. Who knows.

the important thing is that women have to earn the right to be believed, am i right?

Since when is this individual representative of half the world’s population? I believe her, but not unconditionally.

I also wonder why her friend didn’t ask her later…‘hey, you disappeared the the other night, what was that about?’ I could get her not volunteering what happened, but the fact that she ran out of the house and there was nothing asked about it (?) struck me as odd.

Seems pretty normal to me. Not all friends are good friends.

I know I shouldn’t be talking, but don’t you think that’s an unreasonable judgement to make? I’m not bothered or anything, it just seems like a really weird thing to say about such a broad group of people.

It’s an exaggeration based on my personal experiences. Haven’t had one not to make an exploitative, irritating, or outrageous claim. I’m still out of hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars because I was leased an apartment infested with bedbugs, and they wouldn’t break my lease or relocate me.

Farewell, My Lovely (1975) – Having seen 1944’s Murder, My Sweet last year, it was interesting to compare and contrast the two. I had forgotten that the '44 film was renamed to help audiences from confusing it with a musical (which its star was known for), so I had the sudden realization that I was watching the same story, done in a very different way.

That said, to argue against your point, the number of people on the right who show up for protests and marches are dwarfed by left. Trump inspires lefties to go nuts and march in the millions. The right largely just stays home and stockpiles guns 😉

Did you forget the other rallies Trump inspires? The left rallies may be larger…

It’s interesting that rallies on the right make you think of white nationalists. Do you immediately associate rallies on the left with Antifa? BLM?

I’m not conflating white nationalists with the right in its entirety, but after I posted that I had a feeling it’d be interpreted that way. Sorry about the confusion there. They sure as hell ain’t lefties though, and Trump’s failure to condemn the white nationalists has done nothing to deter them. In fact, they feel like the president supports them.
