"Your job is to be neutral, fair, and accurate."
TV News somewhat addressing the falling trust people have in the media, and Spicer’s problems with half-truths.

I can’t watch right now, what exactly did he say beyond that?

When someone lies, the only way to be neutral, fair, and accurate is to say so.

Yeah, they aren’t defending Spicer, they told him to be less confrontational, but they didn’t necessarily defend the press either.

Keith Ellison, who was recommended by folks like Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, will in all likelihood take over as DNC chair, but things aren’t all a bed of roses yet.

Bernie might run again, but there’s no real democratic front-runner for the party to rally around yet (that I’ve heard of).

Somehow this slipped right by me, I was unaware of this development. Thanks for sharing these links.

Man robs Kansas bank to ‘escape wife’

Funny, but politics?

Sorry, things were looking dire, and just like a news program, I went for something lighthearted to distract us from it.

Here’s something that might be more fitting:

2017 has been “doubleplusgood” for sales of George Orwell’s “1984.”

The novel’s newfound popularity comes several days after White House press secretary Sean Spicer argued defiantly that Trump’s swearing-in Friday drew the largest-ever audience for an inauguration “period,” despite obvious photo and statistical evidence to the contrary.

Senior Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway later defended that argument by saying Spicer’s false claims were actually "alternative facts."

Given it’s probably one of the most influential novels of my life, I’m glad more people are reading it. I’m not so sure I’m glad more people are reading it because it’s become nonfiction.

Trump is again claiming widespread voter fraud. He’s nuts.

It was sad before, but it’s getting pathetic at this point. You won, dude, let it go!

I had to have someone point it out to me, but you’d think if Hillary was able to get 4-5 million people to commit voter fraud, you’d think she’d do it in states that she wouldn’t have won otherwise. What a waste of what is apparently the perfect scheme since there’s no evidence of it having ever happened!

I can’t believe they’re still going on about it.

Sad!

People should not be fired from their jobs for one error of judgement unrelated to the performance of that job, or for not adhering to whatever the popular opinion/values of the time happens to be. It reeks of fascism any way you put it.

I think a suspension, which I believe is what they’ve done, is appropriate. She should be punished but not with termination.

If you work for SNL, that makes you a public figure, and you are responsible for what you put out in the public with your name on it.

That sounds reasonable enough to me.

Another Press Briefing now.

With all the people not in the labor force it would be nice to see a change that allows those people to get work, stay working, and afford to care for their families properly on their own. It would give our country a well needed confidence boost and we certainly need it.

Also, Sean Spicer is handling himself rather well, especially considering the crowd he was given.

fixed

lol, thanks.

TPP is dead. Link is unedited footage of Trump meeting with US business leaders. I’ve worked in an assembly plant at some point in my life and Trump is really reminding me of the guy who was in charge there, really had a loud mouth but was able to give competent board meetings. That’s not an endorsement, just an observation.

Day of Anger – Another spaghetti western, but one of the best ones I’ve seen. Just check out this trailer: https://youtu.be/2UX6KMJd7Sw

In regards to Tarantino, I’ve only seen Pulp Fiction and The Hateful Eight. I don’t know what’s particularly special about him, but the ones I’ve seen are pretty good. Not personal favorites, but he seems to like the same kind of movies I do.
