Wow. And here I thought fans had accepted Kyle as Green Lantern.

Yeah I did did as well. He seemed a decent replacement in keeping witht the other events of the DCU.

But there is one dead hero who has managed to stay dead - Barry Allen, AKA: Flash #2! Not that there was anything wrong with him...

Never say never, friend. I like that he's been kept dead because it honors his sacrifice in COIE which I found to be the most moving scene in that entire series second only to Supergirl's death. But who knows what they'll be doing (have done?) in the new 'Infinite Crisis' series.

Then by that logic its very important that Barry stay dead, otherwise his sacrifice loses all meaning.

I'd hate to turn this into a casting thread, but do you fellows have any ideas on who could play Hal Jordan, Kyle Rayner, Guy Gardner, John Stewart and/or, do I dare suggest it, the original Green Lantern, Alan Scott?

Or the lethal lovely Star Sapphire?

Hmmm... the first person who jumps to mind for Star Sapphire for me would be (a probably younger) Mimi Rogers. I'll have to think about the guys though. And please dare suggest because I at least feel Alan Scott is one of the coolest GLs!

How about Peter Weller as Alan Scott then? Or is he too old?

You know, I might have gone with a younger Harrison Ford as Hal Jordan.

It's essentially fandom complaints that brought Jordan back.

Kyle Rainer is now, apparently permanently, Ion once again, Guy Gardner is... somewhere in space with Kyle, and John Stewart is... ah, heck if I know.

Keep in mind I haven't bought/read much since 1998 so I'm a bit behind.

You're not the only one - I lost track of comics when my subscriptions to Justice League and Fantastic Four expired and I forgot to renew them (that was around 1999...).

About the only thing I've learned of recently is that they brought back Hal Jordan as the main Green Lantern - and I have no idea why.

Wow, this really is incredible. I had no idea Conan was coming back with such force. I am weary of any live-action film starring Tripple H though--i mean Arnold and Milius did a damn fine job so you never know, and the fact that they are sourcing the original REH novels is certainly good. I just dont want to get my hopes too high.

(personally, at this point, unless the live action film has a huge ass budget, which i severely doubt, i predict the animated film will probably be the stronger).

Just goes to show that you can't keep a good Cimmerian/Barbarian down!

Funny thing: the He-Man & The Masters of the Universe toyline was originally meant to be a Conan toyline, but Mattel apparently didn't like sponsoring such a violent character so they reworked it to suit their needs. Or at least that's what the legend says.

There've been several films but I'm always left scratching my head wondering why U.S. studios take the time to animate kids films well but when aiming for an older audience the animation tends to look like crap (ie sloppy work, bad perspective, etc).

That statement reminds me of the Ralph Bakshi films I've seen... the guy wanted to make films that were for mature, adult audiences, but his animation was crappy & disjointed as Hell.

Even so, Grace doesn't have the presence and intensity that Brock needs to be a threat.

Besides, shouldn't they focus on finishing the storyline with Harry becoming the 2nd Green Goblin before jumping onto another villain? They can only drag out this build up to Harry becoming GG2 for so long before it becomes obnoxious.

Think its true...and if it is, bad idea?

I think it'd be the WORST IDEA ON EARTH! I mean, he's the friggin' leader. Granted, not a large part, but he should've played a bigger part. Stupid script writers. "Wolverine is soooo cool. Let's make him the main character." "Halle Berry is whining. Let's give her a bigger part."

Yeah, it pisses me off too. Of all the X-Men characters, Cyclops was always my favorite (along with Beast and Colossus), and I was so mad at how they treated him in the first two movies, virtually ignoring him like they did. And then they go and say he'll appear in X3 in a "reduced role". I'm like how the f*** can you reduce his role anymore than you already have?! He's the frickin' leader and you treated him like some minor character, and now you're gonna "reduce" his role?! How the Hell can you reduce his role anymore without writing him out fo the God damn movie altogether?!

Personally, I blame Wolverine. At this point I'm just sick & tired of him.
