Kevin Conroy was a great Batman. He was also a pretty kickass Bruce Wayne as well. I really can't say enough about that, except that the first few seasons of the Animated Series was just perfect... until FOX had to stick its nosy business into it.

Even so, the first Batman: The Animated Series which ran 1992-1995 is still far & away the best of the DCAU shows. Best writing. Best animation. Best of everything. Which is not to say I didn't enjoy the animated series of Superman and the Justice League, because it was great to see more variety of characters and all, it's just that overall I think Timm & Dini's first Batman series was their best.

Kevin Conroy was indeed a great Bruce Wayne/Batman, otherwise it wouldn't be his voice I hear when reading Batman comics. I wonder what'll become of him now that the DCAU appears to be finished and they've got that new guy Rino something doing the young Batman on the vastly inferior "The Batman"...

Oh. I didn't know that. Keep you're fingers crossed for Terry Gilliam or Alfonso Caroun. It'd take a miracle, but hey, it'd be great.

I'm hoping and praying and crossing.

Well, do it for both that and a proper OOT DVD release, and soon. I appears that a supreme being (Ever seen Time Bandits? "What, you mean God?" "Well we don't know him that well.") is one of the few people with more power that George Lucas.

Anyways, can you imagine the Inferius rising up out of the lake thorough the lens of Caroun or Gilliam? It'd be a superb blend of nightmarish horror and fantasy. Man, the possibilities.

Columbus and M. Night have both been brought up.

I'd rather have M. Night than anymore Columbus.

How is the "the fact that Keaton was Batman" is "kinda the point"? Well everyone knows Keaton as Batman so it would be cool to have him play the Joker in a new film. I dunno - it's postmodern or something.

I still don't get it.

It's just kinda ironic.

That's complex. I really don't think that Keaton would fit the role.

...but Heath Ledger is a good actor so I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do with the role.

In the Knight's Tale days, I'd have shuddered, but after Brokeback, I can see that he has matured into an exceptional actor. Hamill keeps being brought up, huh? Any DCAU fans here?

Many of us are DCAU fans. Whenever I read a Batman comic, and I read Batman's dialogue, I hear Kevin Conroy's voice in my head.

Another person who I think would of been a good choice would be Crispin Glover. I heard that he was rumored to be considered at one point for the role.
Yeah, I bet that would have been great. He would have played it really intensely.

Yeah, Crispin Glover as the Joker would have been neat. Of course, I always thought Glover would have made a great Scarecrow, but it looks like that ship has sailed.

Interesting. I would kill to see Mark Hamill talking in his Joker voice in the booth.

But isn't it a little late to have Michael Keaton play the Joker now after having played Batman almost 20 years ago?
Well, I don't necesarily think the Joker needs to be played by somebody young - Jack Nicholson was almost 60. And the fact that Keaton was Batman is kinda the point. I think it would be very cool, and we know he can do psycho.

I wasn't saying that the Joker had to be played by someone young, I'm just saying it feels odd to have the former Batman actor take up the role of the Joker, even though I'm sure that in another life Keaton would have made a fine Joker.

How is the "the fact that Keaton was Batman" is "kinda the point"?

And Mike_0, yes, many of us here are fans of the DCA Batman: The Animated Series.

Luke VS. The Abominable Snow Man/Wampa in ESB - oddly enough, the wampa didn't hit him in the face
Time
They say the whole reason for the scene where Luke is mauled by by the Wampa/snow monster in the opening was to explain why Luke looked different in ESB than he had in ANH (because of Mark Hamill's car accident). And yet, watching ESB a few nights ago, I noticed that the Wampa did not actually hit him in the face, the Wampa hit him more in the back of his head. This means the back of Luke's head should be bloodied and not his face, yet we see cuts from the Wampa claws.
