DSD would allow for an eventual SACD release, since it is the single bit variable word length digital proceesing system that is at the heart of SACD. I have yet to hear anything SACD myself, but have heard that it sounds good enough to make you want to buy new speakers, since the variable word length allows it to process frequencies normally considered out of the range of human hearing. The thinking behind including these frequencies is that they may serve a purpose in spatialising the sound. Anyhoo, it sounds cool.

A chatroom would be cool, but it's largely a question of timing. Not all of us are here @ the same time, plus it would probably take up a fair bit o' bandwidth and I don't know how much Jay is willing to spring for, or if he's even interested.

I'm thinking that one of the reasons that the changes work in THX while they don't in SW is emotional distance; GL has never really distanced himself from Star Wars, while he's looking @ THX 33 years later. Just a thought.
