Who knows, but he and RR are always trading favours. For example, RR wrote the majority of the musical score for Kill Bill Vol II, while the RZA did the score for Vol I.

Here's a link to the official site for "The Passion Recut": Official Site. It includes a QuickTime clip of Mel explaining why he decided to do the recut and release it to theatres, and there are links to get supplementary DVDs and other information for church groups, which is clearly Mel's target with this rerelease.

On a completely unrelated note, for those Kevin Williamson and Wes Craven fans out there, Canada is the only place to see the R-rated cut of Cursed, with the exception of BC and Saskatchewan. The US got the neutered PG-13 cut.

Every actor makes @ least one bad choice, so Jennifer is in distinguished company. Ben Aflleck, on the other hand, is turning into John Travolta by making a career out of bad choices.

I've said this before and I'll say it again: Elektra was not a terrible movie; it just wasn't good enough to get the masses who drool over her in Alias every week into the theatre. Why buy something you can get beamed into your home over broadcast TV every week for free?

Actually, I'd say it's the other way around. One thing that has really distinguished the PT from the OT is the pacing; the OT moves like gangbusters, while the PT has to hammer you over the head 7 or 8 times with every 'significant' plot point.

I'll see it. Rodriguez has yet to make a truly awful movie. He's made some outstanding movies (Il Mariachi, Desperado, the first 2 Spy Kids) and some mediocre (OUATIM, SK:3D, From Dusk Till Dawn), but nothing truly awful. Plus, it'll answer the question of if Frank Miller could have a future as a filmmaker.

I think it was actually more like Gollum, in that she performed, but they used her performance to shape a CG version of her. BTW, I think she's very attractive as Katherine Hepburn in The Aviator. Something about redheads, I guess, since I also find Julianne Moore attractive.

Yeah, LOTR is supposed to be the be-all and end-all of Middle Earth. the other stories are window dressing, if you will.
