Yes, it was. They still show reruns, so if you're so inclined, you can quote The Sixth Sense: "I see dead people." HotRod, I take it you were unimpressed with the flying effects in the HP films?
Cool, but I really wanna get Looney Tunes: Back in Action that month. BTW, the SEs of Lilo & Stitch and Pocahontas have been delayed until next year, because Di$ney is reportedly working on a theatrical sequel to L&S.
Ha-ha. Mr. Dressup was actually a Canadian children's show hosted by Ernie Coombs, an associate of Fred Rogers. The show was actually fairly creative, but it took a nosedive when Casey and Finnigan left.
Actually, the players themselves were quite compact, especially compared to the VCRs of the day. Here's a pic: It was the discs that were so bloody heavy and awkward, because they were kept in a special heavy-duty plastic sleeve which you inserted into the player, then removed so the disc could play.
Nice to see that Tombstone is still #1. You guys should really see Once Upon a Time in the West; absolutely amazing western that still holds up 35 years later.
I remember CED all too well; in fact, ROTJ was the last film to be released on CED. The picture quality was slightly better than VHS, but would occasionally skip. The discs weighed about 10 lbs apiece. A friend of mine got a CED player and all the discs the previous owner had @ a garage sale in '94; man, it took up a lot of space!
I never said that inducing an altered state through television was a bad thing... my kids loved the Teletubbies, a stoner's delight if I've ever seen one.
