Desert Island Discs
Time
OK, the rules for this thread are as follows: you are to pick the 10 CDs that you would take with you in case you were stranded on a desert island, subject to the following criteria:
1. No greatest hits collections
2. No compilations other than soundtrack albums
3. Multi-disc sets (double albums, but not box sets, because of greatest hits rule) count as one selection
And finally (this one should be a no-brainer):
4. Only commercially available CDs are permitted; this does not exclude indie albums, but it does not include music you made by yourself and has yet to be sold.

Other than that, anything goes. Here's my set, not in any particular order:
1. Queen- A Night at the Opera
2. The Mavericks- Trampoline
3. The Beach Boys- Pet Sounds
4. The Beatles- Rubber Soul
5. Propellerheads- Decksandrumsandrockandroll
6. Electric Light Orchestra- Time
7. Level 42- World Machine
8. Bjork- Post
9. ABC- Beauty Stab
10. Beck- Mutations

Go for it!

DVDs of 2004?

Sean, go to snopes to find out about S-E-X in the Lion King. I think I may actually have to skip Aladdin for 2 reasons:
1) I don't know how well it's going to hold up after 12 years; the humour is very topical
2) I was appalled by the PC editing that occurred to appease the Arab Anti-Defamation League

It's actually a lot of fun. Mostly it consists of threading up the film once it's finished, making sure it's in frame abd everything is running smoothly while it's running, and dealing with focus and volume issues. Just multiply those issues by 14 screens, and that's what I do most of the time. We have a union projectionist who handles things like putting the film together and attaching the trailers. I just run the suckers.
