No, I do not. But is the standard then going to be what the director and creator of the object like or dislike about the object going to be the basis for inclusion and exclusion? Because if it is, then the Wolfman should have been permantly deleted, the guy who put it in there hated the mask as much as GL did.

No, I don't think that should be the standard. What I think should be the standard is, "How close is this to the theatrical experience?" The reflection likely wasn't visible in release prints because of the lowered resolution values, much like matte lines and other such problems. If the corrections are for that purpose, then it preserves the original. If not, it has been altered for video release.

But they wouldn't be able to do so without Lucas' permission, because of a little legal snag called moral rights. Unless GL waived these @ the time he made the films (and I doubt he did), they still need his permission.

God forbids, I'd never wish for the death of another human being, and I like GL, but... what if he died? I mean, WHEN he died.

The rights are with Lucasfilm as of now, and will not expire until 70 years after the copyright was issued (2047 for ANH). Moral rights always reside with the author and typically die with him. You might be able to persuade the progeny to allow the release of the OT, but it's questionable.

I was waiting for somebody to do this. Should've figured it'd be Gundark.

I like your ideas SES. Good ones.

I can never resist a pun, no matter how bad, or a popular culture reference, for that matter.
