Well.........I understand that the president at the time-had hints and leads----but from my point of view---what were they supposed to do? Even if they knew it would happen----it would make not much diffrence if stations all over the pacific were put on a battle alert---the Japs still would have attacked, and we still would have lost men, and the american people would still be angry, and we would still have gone to war with Germany also.
So when you choose a side as hard as you have, proof is just a unneccessary luxury?

If we were so careful about which threats we paid attention to, then it's particularly ironic that we chose to ignore the real threat (9-11), and take action on the bogus threat (we thought Iraq had weapons of mass destruction).

It's interesting you bring up Pearl Harbor, because in recently declassified documents, it turns out that we knew that was coming too, and allowed it to happen so the American people would be incited enough to allow the president to get involved in the war.

It's interesting when a government allows something tragic like that to happen for the purposes of manipulating it's own people to get behind whatever the current administration wants to squeak through Congress.

But as long as you are good with "well I don't know for sure so I'll just assume our government wouldn't lie to us -again- over something as serious as this", then who's gonna stop them?

As long as we can all buy our DVD's and video games, we don't care.

People are in "punish America" mode because we are assholes who don't give a crap about stuff like this until it's too late.

We didn't care that our president invaded another country without provokation, (we only impeach presidents who are having better sex than most of us can hope for).

We didn't care that he probably fixed the elections.

And now we are trying to pretend all this negative American sentiment is just a trick to get us to spend our money.

Gee, I wonder where all this negativity being leveled against the "great" America comes from.

Hey guys, Remember when Star wars had writing like this?

Well aside from the obvious resolution issue, I like the way it represents the way it looked in theaters as far as having the grain, scratches and image instability. To me part of the point of having this on DVD is to preserve how we used to have to watch it. Unless you were there when it was first unspooled, these issues were present to varying degrees even in the theater.
