Wow, that’s terrific news.
Wow, that’s terrific news.
Indeed, ROTS sits currently at 7.6 on IMDB, which bests The Last Jedi (7.3) and Solo (7.1), and just below Rogue One (7.8).
Thanks for posting the interview, was fascinating beyond just the Star Wars stuff.
Ian McDiarmid returned to portray the Emperor in the final season of rebels.
In which he was utterly fantastic. It’s such a creepy, almost horror movie portrayal (I found myself doing the classic “no no no don’t trust him!” thing a couple times). Perfect Palpatine.
This.
It simply hits me on an emotional level that TFA failed to reach.
Thought TFA was a really fun adventure and I loved it.
TLJ crippled me emotionally!
These just make me wish it was a Lando movie
That’s Episode XI pal.
Of COURSE the Solo tie in novel is called “Last Shot”!
Really liked that…
If I can survive the prequels and special editions, then I can survive anything.
Yup!
God those were awful posters.
Can’t agree with that, me duck!
Don’t forget Kenner brought back the toys in 1995, a full two years before the SE’s. Sure, Luke and the gang looked like they’d been hanging out on Eternia, but damn it was good to see Star Wars toys on the shelves again!
We also had the stuffed to the gills soundtrack anthology, and the (not so) Definitive Collection Laserdisc box set in 1993. I don’t think there ever was a time that the OT was out of print on home video in the 80’s or 90’s.I’d say 91-95 was a fun, ‘pure’ time for those reasons - Zahn, new Kenner Eternia figures, soundtrack CDs, VHS sets…
Don’t forget the birth of LucasArts games, 90s was its prime.
Yes!!!
Thinking about it, it was my all time favourite era.

I am actually interested in this movie. Why? Because I’ve never thought about young Han Solo. I thought about what Luke might do after ROTJ, I thought about what happened before the OT (before I saw PT).
There isn’t anything this movie can ruin for me, no expectations it can fall short of.
Yup - I’m also hoping for more of a fun watch - the last two R1 and TLJ have had massive stakes, so hopefully something well crafted but lighter…
Respectfully to the OP, shouldn’t this type of question be in the General Star Wars Random Thoughts Thread?
Bob knows the answer: https://youtu.be/guOaI6_cF10?t=4m21s
Hayden by a fucking country mile.
So, are they just going to completely gloss over the other students at Luke’s academy? Apparently like most of them died and a handful became Knights of Ren, which seems like something too big to simply ignore. I mean these are apparently the only other trained Force users anywhere. Where the hell are they???
Maybe Snoke sent them on an important errand. If there’s a lost Jedi temple, there must be a lost Sith temple somewhere?
Isn’t that on Malachor as seen in Rebels?
But since L8wrtr, Q2 and Hal9k have redeemed the Prequels for me
Which edits, might I ask?
I had already pretty much checked out after the prequels, for several years. I barely gave a second thought to Star Wars and I’m not sure I watched any of the movies in their entirety for the better part of a decade from 2005 to 2015. Obviously I didn’t like the prequels and I was so put off by the changes to the originals that I never even finished watching the DVDs I bought in 2004 and didn’t even get the Blu-rays for a long while. I didn’t know about Despecialized or even the GOUT, and had no desire to dig out old VHS tapes, so Star Wars was basically dead to me for quite some time.
Then the hype around TFA “awakened” my dormant interest in the series… and lead me to discovering Despecialized and all of a sudden I remembered why I loved Star Wars so much as a kid. It really was like R2 lighting up at the end of TFA. So I’ve maintained my renewed interest in the franchise in the two years since.
This for me also (slightly abridged version of your post!).
Terrific trailer!
Thank you for that.
Hoping for a second run at some point!

Aye mate - sites like HelloGreedo have their own store https://www.teepublic.com/user/hellogreedo - and seems that teepublic site, and others like them, make t-shirts on a ‘made-to-order’ basis now too. It also has some decent SW t-shirts on there on general sale too.
(A bit different to days of old where someone would have to pay set-up fees, screen-print costs, and deposit down or buy a minimum of 50 t-shirts beforehand etc)
I’m not saying we should have our own store - yet there are possibilities out there…
As said on the prior page, I think it’s a really good idea…
Did anyone have all the Star Wars SE Tazos?
Yes, I have the complete set on my bookshelf right now!
Funnily enough, I was just looking at them the other day.
Anyway, the ideas proposed in your crawl are just an utter mess.
Any need to be quite so harsh, old chap?
Just wanted to share Kevin Smith thoughts on TLJ:
When Smith starts crying … love the passion.
