Knights of the Old Republic & the Sith Lords scores...

Well, dbPowerAmp and OSEx wont help you at all then as neither program is designed for what you are trying to do!

I wouldn't have a clue how to rip soundtracks from Xbox games, you'd probably need to obtain a dashboard hack patch and install it, run a crossover cable from the Xbox to your Mac, then stream all the data to your HD, and sort out the .xma, .grt, and .nda files. Well, that was the only info I found via Google, I don't even have an Xbox!

The easier alternative would be to just hook up the Xbox's audio out to the Mac and then record it the ol' fashioned way.

Initially they were going to be part of the final release, but then it didn't really match with the new bh001 - bh004 as they had a lot more extras and even the cover design ended up different (if you compare its front with the other four you'll immediately notice the difference, nothing major though).

There's no chance someone could put it up on Myspleen or someother site?
By the way, i own both games!

As far as I can tell from starkiller's comment, dbPowerAmp is an unnecessary step, it is only used to convert the MP3s to WAV, which will only increase the file size and maybe make it compatible with a few more programs (which isn't a problem on Macs anyway as any program that would accept WAV would also accept MP3).

One of the options is having to watch with both? That doesn't make sense.

The laserdisc subtitles are below the widescreen image, so those with a widescreen TV have to turn on Cowclops' created subs to see any subtitles at all (though some may see the very top of the old subs still). It doesn't make sense for those without widescreen TVs to watch with both options turned on, but the second option wasn't created for them in mind anyway.

Can we get some seeders for "bh007 - Star Wars Heroes & Villains"?

Currently there is only one seeder and one peer, and I'm downloading at less than 1 KB/sec.

Cheers,

RATLSNAKE

Just so you know, bh007 will be replaced once babyhum gets back up to that number, so I don't know if you'll still want to download it. Plus I believe it is bad form to request seeders on this forum, it should only be done over at MySpleen (at least that is what I've read here before).

Searching for an obscure "making of" clip re Yoda and who he is based on?
Time
I haven't seen the clip you're referring to, but on 'The Empire of Dreams' (on the official DVDs) there is a segment where Stuart Freeborn, the Makeup and Creatures Supervisor who produced the final Yoda puppet, says that he designed Yoda after himself and then added Albert Einstein's wrinkles to make him look wiser. Just skip to Chapter Seven to see that as it is near the start of it.

Funnily, Stuart looks even more like Yoda now that he has his own wrinkles!

Ep I Logo

Where'd you find that Menace one? I vaguely remember seeing the Clones one, but really don't seeing the Menace one. That's probably why it looked so strange to me.

In terms of the Star Wars logo, I was talking about placing it on the front cover on the top of the covers. Even though the poster images are there, it just feels sorta empty to me. I was thiking of something like this logo:

Star Wars Logo

As bob23 just said, he has never seen another official Ep I logo variant other than the one you just posted. The variant he used was just a new creation made on this forum (can't remember by who, but I believe it was just done using a couple of the SW logo fonts available on the web.

Just to clarify, Intel wont be making PowerPC chips, they will continue making the Pentiums, etc, and they will be used in the Macs. As far as I know, there really wont be anything too special about the new Macintels (by the way I've seen the term Macintel used a lot more than Mactel), just high end parts with special firmware on the motherboard to allow the installation of Mac OS X (regular PCs wont be able to, since Apple is still mainly a hardware company and not a software company). So I'd guess you could upgrade in any way like a current PC.

Probably wouldn't be too long 'til someone hacked Mac OS X onto a Dell though!

Or just wait a year or two and then get a Mac and experience the best of both worlds on the one machine (in case you didn't know, Apple is switching from IBM PowerPCs to Intel x86 CPUs so in a year you'll be able to buy a Mac and either dual-boot Windows or run Windows apps from within OS X).

Someone needs to invent a non-lossy video compressor
Time
There already are lossless video codecs. The problem is that you can't currently compress a lossless movie down to a size that will fit on a disc (even Blu-ray sized, maybe possible once more than two-layer discs are available, though it won't be HD).

So lossless isn't really an option, what is is better lossy codecs. MPEG2 was never really that great, whereas MPEG4 is quite decent already. Most Blu-ray and HD-DVD movies will be encoded using one of two MPEG4 based codecs and therefore will be much better quality already, maybe enough that you wont notice any more artefacting, plus they will have the bonus of even greater horizontal resolution.

I thought Laserman's comment might cause trouble as posts will be on different pages for everyone, based on how many posts you've picked to be displayed on each page. I presume Laserman has his set to 20 and Ash595, you probably have yours set to 30 or 50 (well, higher than 25 anyway). I can't really help with a link or a page as I'm set at 25!

Isn't that essentially what we had not too long ago? Problem was, there were so many stickies, you all but had to go to page 2 just to read new posts!

No, it isn't what we had. This suggestion is in relation to the problems with those threads (that used to be stickied), being way too long to easily find information. The suggestion is to distil that information down to very small threads without all the wandering conversation. No one has suggested new stickies yet.

LOL that's great. I wonder if it's just that hard to be creative or if the execs are just too friggin' lazy to come up with something fresh.

At least with Bewitched they have gone quite creative, the movie isn't a direct movie version of the old series, but a movie about making a movie version of the old series!

I actually don't mind the rehashes myself, and it isn't entirely about a lack of creativity. It is becoming quite hard to come up with original stories as so much as been written throughout the centuries. I have got into that trouble before, written something that I thought was really original and then that week finding an almost exact copy of my story already out there! Since there is that trouble, then when they do come up with scripts that are quite close to old concepts, then it is usually wise in a marketing-sense to just buy the rights of the old story as then you will already have an existing market and less needs to be spent on getting your story into the public's faces. If it wasn't an old series, then it will be an old book adaption or simply a sequel.

Had Hidden Fortress been more popular in America then I'm sure that Star Wars would have ended up being marketed as 'Hidden Fortress in Space!'.
