STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

First off, i want to apologize to adywan. I made some stupid assumptions without doing some research to back it up. Also adywan, I want to hope you the best in getting everything on the homefront situated.

Happy to hear about the PT. Thats whats I want to hear.

But i hope everyone here sort of sees what i was trying to say. Even though it wasnt thought through.

STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW

I think it's great what Adywan is doing for the OT. I was excited when I watched his trailer, but recently, all everyone is talking about are very pointless changes that nobody would even notice unless it was pointed out to them. The average movie-watcher/"star wars fan" wouldnt even notice hardly any of these changes, so sometimes i wonder why all this time is being wasted when it could be going toward something more worthwhile.

I mean adding icy breath isnt going to all of a sudden attract new people into watching these movies and change there mind about Star Wars.

I know these little changes are making all of you happy, but i dont think any of you realize what kind of potential you all have into getting some serious recognition and attention.

We should at least be thinking of big changes for the films that ACTUALLY need all this work. I really feel we should be all be doing these picture/video mockups for ROTJ and the PT (I realize there are some out there). I cant wait to see how the PT gets ripped apart and re-arranged strategically piece by piece into something that could be very special.

All in all, Empire should not have taken this long considering it needs the least amount of work done to it. Im all about coming close to perfecting these movies, but honestly, when the trailer came out, it seemed like this movie was going to be done shortly after the trailer release. And now we are all thinking of silly ways into delaying the release of the movie that really needs some fun, and difficult work done to it.

(I realize that there are threads and stuff for the PT and ROTJ, but i guess this ramble is mainly talking to adywan).

Just a ramble i felt i had to give. Dont hate me everyone!!

I was thinking, what if Qui-Gon had never brought Anakin back to Coruscant? Or just left him there longer. How would it affect the plot?

Having Qui-Gon leaving the dangerous "chosen one" behind, would secretly make Qui-Gon the true Phantom Menace.

Having only Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan know about the boy, then the death of Qui-Gon, it leaves it up to Obi-Wan to takes things upon himself to go back for him and train the boy. The way it should of been. Obi-Wan should be resposible for the tragedy. This would really help alot of consistency issues throughout the saga, and possiby make some scenes later in ROTS and ANH a little more ironic and emotional.

Im not really sure when to bring Anakin back into the film, but somehow someway make Obi-Wan be the one who is ultimatly responsible for the tragedy of Anakin, not a character that doesnt really need to be in the movie.

If this was ever done correctly, I can see this really helping the plot in TPM.

This is just a basic idea that can really be built on I feel.

I still dont see why you guys are going on about the "humor" in this review. We are here to discuss the Star Wars movies and ways to make them better. Not here to discuss a fan edit of a hardly known, fan-made review of TPM. Lets take his good points out of his review, and move them into dicussion on this thread. Who cares about the other stuff.

If anything, we should all be glad he made this review, its a little step toward a potenial watchable edit of TPM. ;)

Another thing about the ending of the duel: I didn't really like how Obi-Wan just left Anakin there. Maybe we could make it look like the riverbank is breaking down, and Obi-Wan has no choice but to retreat and watch his friend burn.

Obi-Wan walking away to leave his good friend burn makes the scene more emotional. We see these two as friends for a good portion of the PT, and to see it end like that just gives a darker feeling.

You're right, Farlander, the whole high ground thing was stupid.

I agree here, I also thought it was stupid how we get visually stunning Mustafar shots, only to see this this important duel end on a hill off in the distance. Im all for a more impactful ending to the duel. Im sure someone has a good idea. I like Silverkeys idea in the post above mine.

And SSWR- I loved what you did with the pacing of the Palps/Ani conversation. The duel shots were trimmed perfectly, but the last sequence all seemed too rushed. It needs to feel a bit more natural, but overall, this was a good step in the right direction.

I really hope you guys arent being serious about changing lightsaber colors.

How does that in any way symbolize anything?

It would be pretty confusing.

And its totally unnecesary. It would be pointless to change because SW is too mainstream.

Seriously guys, there are so many things wrong with the prequels, and you guys are talking about lightsaber colors?

That makes even less sense than if Luke, a leader fo the rebellion, went into the heart of the Empire and killed the main baddie and the people went "ah crap. this is on e badass. okay, I give up. you win."

Such a bold move, the death of the Emperor and Vader, would be a double whammy that would cut the empire off at its core.

It would do a heck of a better job showing how Luke has evolved from the simple farmboy in ANH, to a strong, but not almost there yet Jedi.

Even in ROTJ, he starts out on Dagobah, loses his master, and is told that he must face Vader. Thats your foreshadow of what will happen later in the movie. That sets the tone for the whole movie right off the bat, while helping the overall ending to.

I personally feel that the ending to the greatest saga ever created, is very simple, and doesnt close out well, not to mention it ends in 3 locations that have not ever been seen yet in any of the movies.

Wheres the connection to the other movies?

Ive made some postes earlier about Coruscant in ROTJ, so Im not going to repeat myself, but this would help on alot of things that ROTJ needs.

3D STAR WARS for the masses...has ARRIVED!
Time

The whole point in doing it is to have pointless and overblown cgi dogfights. Emulating the dog fights of a new hope without there being any use of real models or any original thought.

I wouldnt mind it, the space battle is so boring when compared to those in the 4 others with space battles. ANH, while being tied with ESB as my favorite SW movie, is very bleh. It really is an inconsistecy with the saga, even ANH's sequels.

Some people are saying that Avatar is the greastest movie they've ever seen. But i think we can all agree that the plot was very simlistic.

Now imagine SW as beautiful as Avatar. Im not talking CG crap, although its fastly improving. SW would blow Avatar out of the water. Basically every aspect of ANH is better than Avatar. Im not trying to be a fanboy either.

I wouldnt rule out a new and improved space battle, Emperor scenes, or a new duel for the 3D release.

Han Solo dieing in the first act would have been a good idea, but I think we can all agree that wont happen. Now at the end of the movie is still an option somehow.

I still think Lando and the Falcon need to get blown up somehow. But would need to be properly pulled off.

I dont think Jedi:Revisited will ever happen based on the level of expectation here.

I think Ady has some good ideas up his sleeve. Looking at his editing of ANH R, it gives me a reason to believe that there will be some great changes made.

Im not trying to be an Adywan fanboy either.

Avatar passes Star Wars at the box office
Time

Has Titanic been forgotten yet?

No, because it has a very strong plot and it tells a story about one of the most famous disasters ever.

This isn't to say it's good or not good (still haven't seen it yet), but just to say that I don't see it being forgotten.

It wont be compared to the great movies, it will be remembered as a huge leap in technology, it will be very boring to watch when CG improves.

They said that about Star Wars too. ;)

But they put out 3 of the greatest movies ever. Avatar has one overated movie out. When I hear people talk about Avatar, the only thing they talk about is how pretty everything was, not anything to do with the plot. I couldn't even tell you 3 characters names from the film.

Where was the tragedy, the irony, the powerful ending in Avatar? I knew what the ending would be like an hour into the movie.

Just my 2 cents :)

This script illustrates to me that one of the main problems of ROTJ is that the final showdown happens in the middle of nowhere in space. It is much more dramatic having it happen at the Imperial capital ( Coruscant or Had Abbadon).

That is exactly what im saying. I think the story should be edited somehow to make this happen. It would be a much more powerful ending. The saga would be alot better off to end on the capital of the SW universe. It would make it feel like the actuall ending and would wrap everything up. While potentially giving the movie the edge it needs.

The idea of Ben watching is also a good idea for the final duel. I always wondered where they were. It would add some more emotion. It would also make him feel like a much more important character at this point in the movies. Which he should already be.

Back to Cruscant talk. I see there are some reasons it wouldnt work, but id like to see them worked around. If they can.

Yeah, I saw that article and that news is very promising. Personally, Star Wars would make just as much money as a 2D release.

Now, It sounds like Lucas will be adding more changes, which for me, is always fun to try and spot them, no matter how I feel about them.

My hope, is that only a re-vamped OT makes it to the screen. I don't want people who have never seen Star Wars to go and see TPM or AOTC cause they'd give right back up on it. Also, seeing a movie with bad CGI would be terrible in 3D. Especially Jar-Jar.

I really have no clue what Lucas may have in store for this. New shot scenes from when the PT was filmed? New soundtrack? Deleted Scenes added? A re-vamped Obi-Wan and DV duel?

That looks amazing, totally gives the shot life and depth, but the planet is too much. The foggy atmoshere would be a good route to take in transforming Endor a little. Now, Id like to see some more waterfall mockups, cause I think they would be a good addition to a boring planet.

Feedback Wanted: Jar Jar's voice and personality re-imagined (video experiment)
Time

This is something I feel is very necessary in doing. I dont want to hear about he was funny or cool, he was a very huge distration that is an embarrasment to Star Wars. Its not just the annoying sound of his voice, but its the annoying way he talks. Jar-Jar should have been a Han Solo type character. Never a pointless kids aimed fool. I sadly dont even see what Lucas was thinking in this Jar-Jar character. He does absolutly nothing for the plot.

If alot of Gungan scenes can be taken out due to the new arranging of scenes, that will give Jar-Jar a whole new feel. Give him a new voice and Jar-Jar will give the film the more serious feel it needs. I dont have any idea for a voice, but something will come up.

Star Wars on Blu in 2011?
Time

They couldn't even do Star Wars right, even after three re-releases, and their Indy set is lacking too.

Ive always had a feeling that Lucas doesn't do anything like Revisited because he wants to keep re-releasing them for more money. I wish he would hire Adywan to do these films right.

Can you imagine how good the PT would be if Adywan had the help of Lucasfilm? New deleted scenes and different cuts that have never released. Im dreaming, but you never know.

He went on, but I thought it was very interesting.

Anyone who wants to give ideas or suggestions for TPM, should watch this, these are the points that need changin. If we can fix most of everything he said, we will be left with a pretty good movie. And thats with out new visuals and intense editing.

That would've established the droids right up front as a threat to be taken seriously.

It would be a much more interesting opening. Like RedLM said, ANH started out, and right away the story was being told without saying one word. The same could be done with TPM.

Mabey show a little of the battle with the having the Gungans meeting up with the droids with Naboo city scapes in the background.

Have the gungans get wiped out and then show the droids marching in raiding the city.

As shaner said, it would right away establish the droids as a threat.

If that could be pulled off, that would be amazing.

It would eliminate alot of stupidness.

Idea: I think the Gungan battle is rediculous. It really should get taken out of the ending, it does nothing important and theres already too much going on at the end..

What if you take it out of the end, and use bits and pieces of it somehow in the beginning to show the raid on the city? Dont know if it would work.
