Custom Enhanced "20th Century Fox" Opening Logo (HD Blender 2.79 Project)
Time

I always found the 20th Century Fox logo in post-97 “Star Wars” very stiff-looking in picture quality. That specific logo used at the time was made in 1994 by a company named “Flip Your Lid”.

Despite a newer design being introduced in 2009 with “Avatar”, the 2011 BD releases kept the '94 design.

The 2019 restorations only removed the “News Corporation” tagline.

Only the 3D re-releases of “The Prequel Trilogy” used the 2009 opening, and even so, the 3D versions didn’t get a home media release.

I decided to go against the 2009 design however, as I had this more positive feeling towards the architecture of the old '94 monument.

The decision was made to go with a logo based off the 2007 “Television” design, which was based off the '90s logo, but slightly enhances it.

This is the result: a modified version of a Blender model done by an internet user named “Victor Hugo Ochoa”.

I kept the “News Corporation” tagline at the bottom, mainly as a nod to the past times before getting bought by Disney. Yes, we all know it’s now called 20th Century Studios, but it will forever be Fox in our hearts!

I mainly did this for fan-edits I would like to do in the future. But YOU can use it as well! You can just credit me, all while using this download for the raw “.AVI” file that you can find in this Google Drive public link.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Wo4doyWbEVJ1z8J5Jte92thk0JT5MUx8/view?usp=sharing
Please note, it does NOT have audio, but you can put your own audio underneath it. Little suggestion: the logo should fade in during the third drumroll of the fanfare, which is usually 2 to 3 seconds from when the fanfare starts.

One of the main goals was to help fan-editors properly open their Star Wars fan-edits with a clean, crisp Fox opening title. I think I might achieve it.

Have fun.

Unusual Sequel Trilogy Radical Redux Ideas Thread
Time

I think I know what’s gonna be put back in: the old 20th Century opening, albeit it’s a much NEWER design to be up to date.

It could either be the 2013-2020 “Fox” logo, used at the time the film itself was released…
https://static.miraheze.org/closinglogosgroupwiki/thumb/2/25/20th_Century_Fox_2016_(enhanced_variant).jpg/504px-20th_Century_Fox_2016_(enhanced_variant).jpg

…or the current “Studios” branded version.

I’m gonna test both of them out and see what looks right.

NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN (1983) Fan Edit (a WIP)
Time

NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN was an unofficial Bond movie created by Kevin McClory, using his film rights for “Thunderball”. As it was unofficial and not produced by United Artists / MGM (it was Warner Bros who produced the film in this case), many of the hallmarks present in an average Bond film were forced to be left out, for obvious reasons.

The main goal of this fan edit is to add back in these hallmarks, as well as replacing the score with a more Bond-styled one (I’m aiming for using music that resembles the Moore era, as the film was released during that time). Anyone can help out here.

Idea: PINGU DESPECIALIZED - Original Cuts Restored

This sounds like a great idea! A few things, though…

The final mixes for the original cuts of Pingu were (presumably) mono. Are there any (and enough) efficient elements available to use for the Dolby Stereo/Surround mixes? It’d be interesting to know anything you think would benefit from a matrixed surround remix.

What resolution and frame rate do you plan to upscale to? The series was (presumably) shot/edited at a frame rate of 25p/50i.

I’m planning that would be a 1080p upscale. I’m assuming the show was shot on film, seeing the BTS stuff it has.

Info: Analog Home Video Releases of Films That Feature Additional Footage That've Never Been Digitally Released
Time

Pingu At The Wedding Party (1997). It’s a TV special but the official home video release claims it’s a “feature”, so, uh, yeah. There exists a rare 5 minute cut (the original was about 25 minutes) made of completely new footage. The only trace of it? A low quality video recorded from a VHS. https://youtu.be/dpCtfu3KjPU

Idea: PINGU DESPECIALIZED - Original Cuts Restored
Time

Around the start of Season 3, the first two seasons of Pingu were redone. Most notable changes include: the music being entirely replaced, a few new voice lines being recorded, as well as a few corrections of some animation errors.

I wanted to:
-Show the original series in it’s original form
-Make a Dolby Stereo mix for the episodes
-Upscale them for HD

Season 3-4 as well as Pingu At The Wedding Party are being considered, since they were revised sometime around 2002 to include a new outro as well as adding titles to the opening of “Wedding Party”.

Pingu in 16:9 Widescreen
Time

I always expressed my thoughts of having a Pingu episode re-edited for high definition widescreen format. I attempted to do it with a Season 1 episode - “Pingu’s Lavatory Story”, or, “Little Accidents” depending on what video release you have titles it. But it never really looked “good”, because my widescreen attempts including “poor MS Paint shape tools” as well as “poor character chroma keying” (Characters usually went off the screen in some shots) including “poor motion tracking” too.

I am attempting to do it again this time with 'some help", as well as using much better software “Movie Studio 14.0 as well as upscaling software in this case” and do it for the first episode, and if possible, the entire Seasons 1-4. Season 5 and 6 were done entirely in widescreen, albeit cropped to 4:3 for American home media releases. I attempted widescreening by using “Pingu Is Introduced”, a.k.a. “Hello Pingu”. I used the Mirror effect on a few frames and they somewhat look “decent”.

Honestly, I may need some people for shots that may not be easy for me to widescreen. For example, any shot where a character moves off screen, or when the camera moves in some sort of way. Shots need to be upscaled to provide a full high-definition effect. I AM thinking of doing color grading to make it look more like the next 3 seasons (ESPECIALLY Season 3 and 4).

Idea: Ewok Adventures REVISITED - An Attempt To Put "Caravan Of Courage" And "Battle For Endor" In The Regular Canon
Time

A year ago, I had done a fan-edit of Caravan of Courage called “Star Wars: Episode V.II: Caravan Of Courage”. Now, I’ll try improving it. (And no, I’m NOT George!) I’ll also have work on it’s sequel, Battle For Endor.

Opening / Closing Logo Comparisons On "Star Wars" Media (REPOST)
Time

The following text is from the original thread, with a few words “changed”.

This is supposed to be a list of changes to logos as seen on the Star Wars films (before the Sequel Trilogy, as no changes have been made to it YET). Stuff like the MPAA, Dolby, and THX logos in the credits will also count as well.

A NEW HOPE:
1977, 1978, 1979, 1981, and 1982 releases - 1953 20th Century Fox logo with Lucasfilm Limited in-credit notice - Dolby System and MPAA logos (Surprising that they didn’t use the recently updated Fox logo for the 1981 release)
1997 release - 1994 20th Century Fox logo with 1997 Lucasfilm Limited logo - Dolby, MPAA, SDDS, Dolby Digital, DTS Stereo, and THX/TAP notice
2019 Disney+ Release - Bylineless 1994 20th Century Fox logo with 2015 Lucasfilm Limited logo - Closing logos same as 1997 release
THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK:
1980 and 1981 releases - 1953 20th Century Fox logo with Lucasfilm Limited in-credit notice - Dolby Stereo and MPAA logos
1997 release - 1994 20th Century Fox logo with 1997 Lucasfilm Limited logo - MPAA logo and THX/TAP notice (The Dolby Stereo logo is this time just an in-credit text)
2015 Digital Release - 1997 Lucasfilm Limited logo - Same closing logos as 1997 release
2019 Disney+ Release - Bylineless 1994 20th Century Fox logo with 2015 Lucasfilm Limited logo - Closing logos same as 1997-2004-2011-2015 releases
RETURN OF THE JEDI:
1983 and 1985 releases - 1981 20th Century Fox logo with Lucasfilm Limited in-credit notice - Dolby Stereo and MPAA logos
1997 release - 1994 20th Century Fox logo with 1997 Lucasfilm Limited logo - Dolby, MPAA, SDDS, Dolby Digital, DTS, and THX/TAP notice
THE PHANTOM MENACE:
1999 Releases - 1994 20th Century Fox logo with 1997 Lucasfilm Limited logo - Dolby Digital, SDDS, DTS, THX, Silicon Graphics, MPAA logos, along with THX/TAP Notice
2012 3-D Release - 2009 20th Century Fox logo with 1997 Lucasfilm Limited logo (2012 3-D Variant) - I believe the same closing logos as the 1999 release were used, but the words “Released By Twentieth Century Fox” were changed to “Released By Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation”
2015 Digital Release - 1997 Lucasfilm Limited logo - Same exact closing logos as the 1999 release
2019 Disney+ Release - Bylineless 1994 20th Century Fox logo with 2015 Lucasfilm Limited logo - Closing logos same as 1999 release
ATTACK OF THE CLONES:
2002 Release - 1994 20th Century Fox logo with 1997 Lucasfilm Limited logo - THX, Dolby Digital Surround EX, SDDS, DTS ES, and MPAA logos, as well as THX/TAP notice
Star Wars Celebration Europe II 2014 3-D Release - 2009 20th Century Fox logo with 1997 Lucasfilm Limited logo (2012 3-D Variant) - I believe the same closing logos as the 2002 release were used.
2015 Digital Release - 1997 Lucasfilm Limited logo - Same exact closing logos as the 2002 release
2019 Disney+ Release - Bylineless 1994 20th Century Fox logo with 2015 Lucasfilm Limited logo - Closing logos same as 2002 release
REVENGE OF THE SITH:
2005 Release - 1994 20th Century Fox logo with 1997 Lucasfilm Limited logo - Dolby and MPAA logos. This time, the THX/TAP notice isn’t included
Star Wars Celebration Anaheim 2015 3-D Release - 2009 20th Century Fox logo (still with the News Corporation byline, despite the 2013 split) with 1997 Lucasfilm Limited logo (2012 3-D Variant) - I believe the same closing logos as the 2005 release were used.
2015 Digital Release - 1997 Lucasfilm Limited logo - Same exact closing logos as the 2005 release
2019 Disney+ Release - Bylineless 1994 20th Century Fox logo with 2015 Lucasfilm Limited logo - Closing logos same as 2005 release
CARAVAN OF COURAGE:
So far, the only release I know the logos of is the DVD release, which does have the logos from the pre-1997 release of “Jedi” but with the 1997 20th Century Fox fanfare.
BATTLE FOR ENDOR:
It only begins with the green Lucasfilm Limited in-credit notice from the previous film. The FOX logo does not appear here.
THE CLONE WARS:
Any release before 2019 I know of begin with the 2003 Warner Bros. Pictures logo, along with the 1997 Lucasfilm Limited logo. All I can make out from the closing credits footage on YouTube is the MPAA logo, along with logos for Lucasfilm Animation, Lucasfilm Limited, and Warner Bros. Pictures. The Disney+ print removes any references to Warner Bros.
Correct me if I have a few false things here.

Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends UK Series 1-2 Original Broadcast Version Reconstruction (WIP)

I also heard that there used to be a Central logo after the Clearwater and Britt Allcroft logos on these airings. We can either restore the Central logo by doing an upscale of a screenshot, or use a real cardboard version of the logo used by the ITV region which is now in the hands of a person called Matthew Gulliver. http://www.crossroads2001.co.uk/central/collections/collectionmg_files/image001.jpg

Idea & Feedback Wanted: 'Pingu' - High Def. Season Sets
Time

I may have already done this, but decided to re-do it because the topic it was in kind of wasn’t fitting to me. So HiT Entertainment is usually not that of a season set distributor in America. Sure, we got the complete first season of Thomas & Friends on DVD from Anchor Bay, but I think it should be more than that. One of which should be Pingu, which DID get season sets in the U.K. but then, starting with Season 2, would release it in VOLUMES with names like South Pole Adventures, which would then be used for U.S. releases that actually have nothing to do with their U.K. counterparts except for the name and cover. So I decided I should make actual season sets. Not just on DVD, but on Blu Ray Disc as well. This probably means using HD prints from some kind of source. I think it should be a good idea. What do you think?

Star Wars Episode V.II: Caravan Of Courage (Released)
Time

Update: Just finished the opening crawl. Here’s what it will say.

Episode V.II

CARAVAN OF COURAGE

The Empire has again been stopped.
Thanks to Luke Skywalker and
the Rebellion, the galaxy has once
again been freed.

However, on Endor, species called
GORAX have planned a battle
on the peaceful moon’s population.

A family with the name of Towani
is on their cruiser not knowing
of the conflict happening…

It’s okay if it looks like it needs edits, you could also do an opening crawl and send it to me.

Star Wars Episode V.II: Caravan Of Courage (Released)
Time

Here we go again. I heard that the Ewoks television movie “Caravan Of Courage” was a bit bad due to a simple story.

Plus, a narrator would never be used in a Star Wars movie anyway.

Here’s how I think it should go.

-Cinemascope aspect ratio like the rest of the saga
-New 20th Century Fox and Lucasfilm logos
-An opening crawl in place of it’s original opening sequence (Any credits mentioned in the opening will be mentioned at the end)

And that’s all I can think of.

I may need some experts like Adywan or some one else to do this fanedit.

I may also need an .mp4 file of a remastered (UHD) version of the film.

That’s all I can say. Any replies?
