Star Wars coming to Blu Ray (UPDATE: August 30 2011, No! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!)
Time

While I agree that's probably the case, who's to say they won't go all prequel deleted scenes on it?  Remember, where they added CGI effects and stuff to finish them before showcasing them to the public?  I mean, it could be farfetched, but who's to say they wouldn't do the same kind of things to these deleted scenes, so they won't be the "workprint" editions but "George's totally real original vision" version?

Yodaspeak: A Study In Yoda's Speaking Patterns and Their Frequency in the Star Wars Movies
Time

Oh, this is awesome.  Yoda's speech in the PT has bugged me for the longest time, and I remember the exact moment it came to me.  It was when I was watching AOTC in theatres, and Yoda had two lines during the end battle that made my head spin:  "Around the survivors a perimeter create!" and, "To the forward command center take me!"  Those two were just so poorly written that it was almost like a joke.  But the real kicker for me was in ROTS where he says, "A prophecy that misread may have been."  I remember the first time I heard that I couldn't even comprehend what the hell he was saying!

But I do have a question in regards to "AotC Total: 21/56 lines are odd, 55%."  Did you make a typo somewhere?  Because how does 21 out of 56 equal 55 percent when doubling 21 only gives you 42?

Starwars.com closes its forums
Time

Damnit.  I can't get the link to work.  Or is the link not working the sign that the forum is closed? =P

And is it closed now, or is it closing at some point in the near future?  Has there been any lead up or prior announcement in regards to this, or did thousands of Star Wars fans turn on their computer one morning only to find that their message board was dead?

EDIT:  Nevermind.  The link's working now. =P

RuPaul's Drag Race.

Now, I have always maintained a considerable distance from reality shows.  But a friend of mine watches it, and I always happen to be over when it's on, and I admit I've actually started to really enjoy it.  I absolutely despise her for doing this to me.  The episode that was on last night was particularly fun.  While it was basically a complete waste of time, since they brought back one of the girls they'd voted off two weeks earlier only to immediately vote her off again, the challenge involved each girl being assigned a straight jock to make over into her drag sister.  And it was just quite amusing to see how invested and excited the jocks got in this competition.

And since, especially with the presence of jocks with no drag experience, the concept of "tucking" came up quite a bit, my curiosity got the better of me, so I just got done watching a YouTube video explaining how exactly that works, so this post can fulfill both my "last TV show" and "last web series."  As far as that went, everyone seems to claim that it's really easy, that the body has natural "pockets" to hide... the... you know, but as open-minded as I am, it still makes me feel a little squeamish to even imagine it.  That's just not an area of my body I'm going to start moving around willy-nilly without being totally sure I'm not going to cause irreparable damage. =P

A friend of mine has been getting me into The Big Bang Theory.  I'm on season 2 now.  Definitely a nerd's paradise.  A little relevent snippet of joy from the last episode I watched:

Leonard:  We're watching The Clone Wars TV series.

Sheldon:  Well, I don't want to watch The Clone Wars TV series before I see The Clone Wars The Movie.  I want George Lucas to disappoint me in the order in which he intended.

GI Joe: Rise of the Cobra

I really enjoyed it. It was a mindless action movie, yes, but sometimes that's all you need. Would I watch a sequel? Heck yes.

Sigh.  Terrible, terrible movie.  I sometimes wish my wonderful, wonderful review had ever come out to enlighten terrible, terrible people like you how terrible, terrible that movie was. =P

I would have bought that shirt, but the fact that Link has his sword in his right hand is an immediate no-sell for me.

I guess I'm a Zelda purist.

Hehe, yeah, that always rather annoyed me too.  But then again, I'm usually looking at in a mirror, so...

And, wow, I didn't realize you lived so close.  Not that I had any control over the itinerary or transportation even if I had known. =P

How do you know it's older?  Maybe I just take better care of my clothes than you do. =P

In a related story, I'm from the South.  It's something of a not-so-secret shame of mine.  Well, I was born in Chicago, but I grew up in the South.  That said, I don't speak with a Southern dialect (that I'm aware of at any rate), and I wouldn't touch "y'all" with a ten-foot-pole.  But on the way up to the con, we stopped at a McAlister's Deli in Illinois for dinner, and I had to ask for a to-go box.  When the server returned, I turned to thank her, but I guess I decided to get slightly more creative and instead said, "Much obliged."  I then had to spend the next thirty seconds having to explain to her what that meant, and at the end I'm still not sure she ever got it...

Heh, thank you.  It's about time someone said something!  Well, some friends took me to HorrorHound, a horror convention in Indianapolis.  I know next to nothing about horror, but since I'd never been to any con before, I figured it'd be fun, or at least a new experience.

So I was carted around the rooms, standing in line for and having my pictures taken with people I couldn't distinguish from Adam but did my best to look excited, so I wouldn't hurt their feelings.  So as I was doing this, I happened to glance at the next table down, and I was quite shocked to see an 8x10 glossy of a Cardassian.  Now, while I had earlier seen a vendor selling Star Trek combadges and assignment patches, a picture of a Star Trek alien at a celebrity's table was the last thing I expected at this place.  I had to find out way.  So I craned my head a bit to see the name scribbled on the edge of the table, and I jumped a foot in the air when I saw that it was Andrew Robinson, the one and only Elim Garak.  I had no idea why he was there (after having done some research, I'm going to assume it was because of his role in Hellraiser... and maybe Dirty Harry?  I haven't seen either), but I immediately jumped in line.

Unfortunately, it's possible that my nerd joy got the better of me.  When I got to the front of the line, I immediately blurted out, "I'dneverevenseenDeepSpaceNineuntilrecentlybutitwasamazingandIspentthepastfourmonthswatchingeveryepisode!"  He looked at me, puzzled, and asked, "Every episode?"  I nodded eagerly.  "In four months?"  "All seven seasons," I beamed.  He stared at me for just a moment, most likely thinking about what a piteous loser I was and wondering if he should call security before I started humping his leg.  I came down to earth a little bit and added, "Well... I've been out of work for the past few months, so I've had a lot of free time, and it helped to lift my spirits..."  So he agreed to pose for a picture, and my friend insisted on giving him $20 so he'd sign a photo of Garak for me.

Finally, knowing I could only stand there for so long, in a display of why I really should plan these things, I asked, not a helpful question about how he made a career out of acting, nor even a thoughtful question about what his most challenging role was.  Instead, I went the cliched and nerdy route and asked him a question he had undoubtedly never heard before:  "How long did it take to get into your Cardassian makeup?"

So while unexpectedly running into a Star Trek actor was an unexpected gem at this con, I might, in the future, make a better show of myself if I think of something meaningful to say and try to keep my nerdiness in check a bit.

Of all the weirdness in that video, something really underrated is the way she says "Friday."  Even without the auto-tuning, it just sounds so weird the way she says "Fry."

Agreed.  It's almost... haunting.  Can't... shut... it... offfffffff!  I'm reminded of what some music critic was said to have said:  "Forget Beiber Fever.  I have the Black Plague!"

Sigh. If I can manage to reinstall my editing software again, that is.  My computer crashed a few weeks ago.  Now I'm just putting in the install CD, but my computer is not reading this CD that I've only used once and have kept in its case for the past two years since.  Are they so worried about pirating that the disc literally only works once and then self-destructs from the inside?

I am starting to give this idea some consideration.  At the very least, I may be able to parlay the hot-button, current event success of this pop culture catastrophe phenomenon and catch a ride on this 13-year-old's coattails, drumming up interest in my own channel (just hit 300 subscribers!).  Hmm.  I shall consider this...
