Heh, wow, that was awesome. motti had more posts than Bossk... and Bossk was Ready for the Trials. It's kinda like watching Muppet Babies. I was reading all these posts by people who have thousands upon thousands of posts now and thinking, "Awww, they're so cute!" The funniest thing was reading the old Rankings... thread where they were trying to insert a Jedi Master status in between Knight and Council. And someone suggested a Jedi Spirit at 10,000... the immediate response was, "No way anyone could reach that!" And Jay was just a Webmaster then... too bad his old avatar's not showing up. I wonder what it was...

I was always a fan of 13 Ghosts for some reason. I never saw every episode, but it was a new take on Scooby with a new group. And it actually had a continuing story line. Plus, Vincent Price was just cool as Vincent Van Ghoul. And I was always pretty fond of Flim Flam too. Then again, I never really minded Scrappy that much either...

FOR THE SINGLE (or widowed or divorced) OTers
Time
I just want to say thanks to MeBe and YIYF for their kinds words and support to my situation. And by all means post here when you feel like it. I'd gladly listen to you guys talk about marriage and the whatlike. After all, you guys have been single before, so you know this territory, whereas I don't really have anything to contribute to the married thread because I haven't yet been married.

I know that I gotta do what I gotta do. To put some more specifics as to why I can't... well, my mother seems to think that if I get married, I'll lose my scholarships. In actuality (although I didn't tell her as I didn't want her to think I was considering getting married), I did talk a person in my school's financial aid office who said that my federal scholarship money would actually increase a bit if I was married. Conversely, though, the loans that my fiancee has require her to be a depedent. And we've talked about just leaving everyone else out of the equation and eloping. But her parents still very much try to control her, and they offer all kinds of financial support to her, so I really don't want to jeopardize that by sneaking around behind their backs. Her dad would probably end up making her a widow if I did that. ^_~ I'm still a bit younger than you two were when you got married, so I still have plenty of time to get things together. And I know a perfect "ready" time will never come. But we'll just see.

I think he's taking the time right now to fix all those things. I mean, from the release of ROTS last year to the 30th anniversary of SW, he will have had exactly two years to fix everything he wants fixed.

Well, he certainly didn't take his time to get everything right with the previous two re-releases, and that alone keeps me from caring about his future efforts. If it takes that many tries to get it "right", either he sucks at what he's doing, he has no idea what he's doing, or he's just doing half-ass jobs to be able to keep re-releasing.

I'm practically 20, and I have been in a relationship with the same girl for nearly three years now. We became engaged a year ago, but we don't tell anybody about it for fear of disapproving parents finding out or people thinking that it's silly to do so at such a young age. Right now, it's college and money (or lack thereof) keeping us from getting married. Beyond that, I feel that I'm ready for marriage, as naive as that may sound, but I really do believe it. And I really do believe that she is the one. As far as it actually happening... I'm not sure when yet. Once the opportunity presents itself, I suppose. But like JediSage said in the married thread, I really don't feel I'd be missing out on anything if I got married early.

Lucas and CGI in the Prequels
Time
Yes, the stop motion in Clash of the Titans is quite humorous at times. As an aside, though, I wouldn't call it unwatchable since I watch movies for the stories rather than the effects, and its story was entertaining enough, although I have to admit I was pulled out enough to laugh at times. But that doesn't mean that all stop motion is better than CG. The stop motion in Empire Strikes Back, for example, coupled with the painted backgrounds, is still more convincing to me than any of the CG in the prequels. It never for a second pulls me out.

EDIT: Sorry. I would have posted this in Rankings had I noticed beforehand, but I just wanted to point out that my post count is 1337, so I just wanted to point out to everyone how 1337 I am. But then again, I guess it's rather fitting for this topic too.

I am looking more forward to this, than anything Lucas is gonna do for the 30th Anniversary of Star Wars.....

What if he released the OOT that year?

Well yes, that would be different case completly, Im happy with the great discs the great editors and preservation people turn out here, so I have no real interest in the "Archival" set other than the extras if they include things like the deleted scenes etc but i am not parting with my cash just for the extras. and seeing the films in 3-D doesnt appeal to me, i may have wanted to make the effort if they were shown normally not in 3-D

I still don't know if I'd buy it if it only came as a 6-movie super special edition pack. I don't want to buy the prequels again, and I don't want to own his next revised vision. If he would just release the bare bones original original trilogy (kinda like what he did a couple of months ago with the special editions), that I would buy. But I don't want to have to shovel his crap just so I can get what I want.

And welcome to the boards, wingman.
