1984 A New Hope Project (* unfinished project *)
Time

I'm at a loss as to why anyone would go through any time and effort to take a VHS 4:3 source, convert it to 1080p HD and then try to convert it to 3D. Just sounds like a lot of wasted time and energy for something that's going to look like utter crap. I've never understood the nostalgia for wanting to relive the experience of seeing something in lesser quality.

The Thing (1982) [spoRv] *BD-25 RELEASED*
Time

After checking the screenshot comparisons and checking out some of the video, I think I'll likely stick with the HD-DVD colors. Besides losing the snow tint, which makes the snow look a bit more realistic, there seems to be a bit too much of a yellowish cast to some of the actors in certain scenes. And with the direct screen grab comparisons, the revised colors to me seem a bit "lifeless" and washed out in comparison to the HD-DVD. Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking the process in any way, but I think the cons outweigh the pros on this. Of course, the HD-DVD may have the colors boosted also, but those images seem more pleasing to my eye. I think a happy medium may lie somewhere in between both these.

Help: looking for... JC's Prince of Darkness? and possible ideas for other projects.
Time

A complete Dawn of the Dead would be a real beast to put together. I think the music is drastically different between the various cuts. I know the Zombi version has all that Goblin music at the end, which is radically different than what Romero went with.

An uncut Scream approaching HD quality would be great! That, and Hellraiser III (Guilty pleasure) are on my uncut "want list."

Anyone interested, I have the Trainspotting Japanese release with the extra few snippets of.... y'know. Ha...

regrading/editing original trilogy using blu-rays and german hdtv streams to remove bad but not all specialised/blu-ray changes (* unfinished project *)

I've been forgetting to ask, what have you been using for video for original theatrical scenes not represented in the special edition? Uprezzed gout or rotoscoping in elements? Thinking of the original transition in Mos Eisley replaced with the bad Jabba scene in the SE specifically.

Color correcting the 2011 OT Blu Rays (* unfinished project *)
Time
Finally got a chance to take a bit of a more detailed look at some scenes. Haven't rendered a final version yet. The blast flashes and explosions on the Blockade Runner look excellent. Love the saturated rich colors but not sure if they're maybe slightly too saturated. Flesh tones seem to shift slightly toward the sunburned in a few spots (blockade runner troopers). Not sure if that’s just something that would need to be tweaked by scene. The only other thing that seems to stick out to me is there appears to be ever so slight of a green tint to the movie now. Some shadow details appear to almost have a greenish cast, at least to my eyes and 3P0 at times almost appears to have a slightly greenish gold tint. Not sure if that was maybe your intent as I’m hearing supposedly some prints had this tint from others on this forum. Of course, this is very subjective so you may be seeing something entirely different. Thanks for your efforts!

Looks nice, from what little I've been able to sample on the MeGui video preview screen. Interestingly enough, I applied your script to Empire and Jedi and browsed a few scenes, which look quite excellent. Empire still maybe just slightly too blue, but overall a HUGE improvement. Vader's saber is a bright red in each too. Are you planning to do a set of settings for the latter two of the OT also? Thanks!
