I'm at a loss as to why anyone would go through any time and effort to take a VHS 4:3 source, convert it to 1080p HD and then try to convert it to 3D. Just sounds like a lot of wasted time and energy for something that's going to look like utter crap. I've never understood the nostalgia for wanting to relive the experience of seeing something in lesser quality. 

In the age of Blu-Ray, I still don't understand why anyone would do a DVD-9 HD version in 2013. BD-25s aren't that expensive. Now, of course, BD-50s are still through the roof unless you import from Japan, but that's another story.

Not a single classic Cheech and Chong movie on Blu-Ray. That's lame, man!

If you're playing the file directly from the PS3 hard drive you don't need to format for FAT32 partitions. It can play the file directly, no matter what the size. I've played up to 30GB files on it. Of course, getting it to play Dolby TRU-HD or any flavor of DTS is another matter entirely.

In your opinion, Yoo_Too, how is the audio quality on this mix compared to the DVD's 5.1 and Blu's 6.1?

After checking the screenshot comparisons and checking out some of the video, I think I'll likely stick with the HD-DVD colors. Besides losing the snow tint, which makes the snow look a bit more realistic, there seems to be a bit too much of a yellowish cast to some of the actors in certain scenes. And with the direct screen grab comparisons, the revised colors to me seem a bit "lifeless" and washed out in comparison to the HD-DVD. Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking the process in any way, but I think the cons outweigh the pros on this. Of course, the HD-DVD may have the colors boosted also, but those images seem more pleasing to my eye. I think a happy medium may lie somewhere in between both these.

Looks like I got deep blue working, but now it's saying I'm missing the curve file. Checked your most recent link and it doesn't appear to be on there? Would you happen to still have that? Sorry about the hassle.

Weird... yeah it must be something with that then. Didn't think to compare the line with your original code. Damned Microsoft! ;)

I think I found a fix for that deepblue issue I was having. Some of the code appears to have been repeated on one line, which led to an error. If I successfully test tonight I'll post the fixed code... and then be rendering out this bad boy!

Sorry, meant to say "black space" frames at the beginning of the video as there was about a second's worth before the film starts.

Sorry, didn't get a chance to upload and give it a listen. :( Is the new audio track in perfect sync with the US video? For my own initial project I had to take out some "black space" frames from the US in order to get it synced to the UK cut.

Interesting... I did not know that. What specifically sounds different? Any actual dialogue changes you noticed?

A complete Dawn of the Dead would be a real beast to put together. I think the music is drastically different between the various cuts. I know the Zombi version has all that Goblin music at the end, which is radically different than what Romero went with.

An uncut Scream approaching HD quality would be great! That, and Hellraiser III (Guilty pleasure) are on my uncut "want list."

Very odd. I took out the stray \ and end up with a syntax error. Completely lost as to how to fix deepblue. Wondering if anyone else having this issue?
