What is going on at lucasfilm cancelled un canceling cancelled Star Wars films and announced new Star Wars films.
Time

It’s sad because i don’t think it’s the fault of any of the actors these characters even in the last jedi could have been great if written right and also didn’t drop plot lines like the knights of ren. also solo could have been great if it didn’t add things that turned it into a parody the lando robot romance which was never hinted at in empire or jedi or the eu just that he was a smooth talker and other odd decisions like maul which I know he came back in the clone wars but his addition in the end felt like fan service and out of place. the whole film had problems. Rogue one had problems but they were very small in comparison to the other four films it was the closest film that came to og Star Wars despite the remaining problems the film had.

Hello, I’ve read some replies but just in case I misunderstood: Is there an audio track available with Temuera Morrison’s voice instead of the original?

Not yet. Once Adywan releases the full Blu-ray edition of the edit, Temuera’s voice will be added in an alternate audio track, but that will only be released after the trilogy is done.

There’s better takes of him saying a good chunk of these lines.

I noped out with the sequel films with the force awakens some of the ingredients were there but not assembled right it felt like a knock off of Star Wars. some of the writing of the characters and I’m sorry I hated kylo ren he was a poor villain or conflict character or whatever he was supposed to be in that film. The only decent Star Wars they did was rogue one. I’m not giving solo the time of day it seems like it’s kinda of a mess. 😦

The A-Team Broadcast Restoration (Released)
Time

Looks like Turbine got the rights to this so I guess this is getting the knight rider treatment as well. if only quantum leap would as well so the trilogy would not only have it full length restored and what ever other episodes might be missing footage but color correction for the whole series. Plus any audio quality issues that might be there if any at all corrected.

From digital bits Take for what you will.

Also today, our friends at Turbine Medien GmbH have revealed that they’re working on a new Blu-ray Complete Series box set release of the classic 1980s NBC TV series The A-Team.

It always bugged me how A New Hope sounded so much older than Empire and Jedi. This is really promising tech. Exciting times for Fan Editors.

People have pointed out how in spots the actors don’t sound like themselves but i think that can be worked out after all this is a beta. I think the people complaining wouldn’t have as much a problem with the final release version of the program.

Although an intersting tool the devil is in the detail it’s not isolating the audio at all it’s recreating the speech audio and parroted back as a sound alike or that is what it seems to be doing to me.

Although Star Wars does have a lot of Audio issues I feel a bit sad in a way that people are trying to apply A.I tools to an old film from 1977 that celebrates the Human condition the robots were people in costumes. The vision of the Robots being people in costume is one to cherish. I’m not sold on the A.I tech that I have seen seems like it’s another hyped up fad.

I see both the good and the bad in ai tech so I see where your coming from because someone just brought up where deepfakes can deepfake anyone at any age. that’s where I draw the line that can be misused for very evil purposes and it makes me extremely sad. Things like that mimicking family members etc. it’s scary tech.

Someone please get Ryan golden to voice Vader for the scenes kenobi part of the edit his Vader is dead on og 77 Vader it’s spooky good. It would be a huge improvement over the Respeacher as great as that tech is. I heard the limitations and yeah it’s not great. Just listen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmRRzpJDDv4

I must admit that is indeed very impressive tech. One could argue that part of the charm is hearing audio the way it was recorded then, however I think it could be used sparingly in some instances for ANH and still not have it be distracting. After all, if one of Ady’s objective is to give the films a visual update, why not experiment with this tech to enhance this way the audio?

I know right and the guy who used the audio program said this is a beta so maybe it might get better.

Well people who hate young anakin ghost are going to hate this. In a new book they’re going to explain why he’s young as a force ghost.

Which book is this?

“From a Certain Point of View: Return of the Jedi”

Those Certain Point of View books aren’t really canon, I think.

They are.

Ugh.

Since you said ugh I have to ask what’s bad in them?

I haven’t looked through them myself, but the PoV book for ANH included stories about how the Dianoga in the trash compactor was really a highly intelligent Force-sensitive being that was “baptizing” Luke when he pulled him under the trash water. And also that TK-421 was Tarkin’s secret lover whom he shared his chambers with. Lots of silly stuff like that that would be fine as little “what-if” stories, but not as actual canon.

I don’t know much about the upcoming RotJ book, but apparently, two of the authors they’ve brought on to write stories for it are mainly known for writing risque Reylo fanfiction. Which just…makes me wonder what the hell happened to Lucasfilm.

Anyway, we should get back on topic.

It’s simple then pick the parts of the book that aren’t bad and ignore the bad that what I choose to do with things like that. like with the kanan books. now that they mess with canon because the bad batch screwed everything up.

He could mention that they were experiencing trouble with a tribe of sand people, the last time he spoke to her.

In my head canon they brought 3PO along to negotiate with them, but being the insensitive piece of scrap metal that he is he insulted the chieftain and made everything worse.

Wait are you trying to fix the Owen and beru line in a new hope if so this is a great way to fix it if possible.

It’s not a completely different city. The aesthetic feels the same. The only thing that’s objectively a different place i Wayne Manor, and I’d consider it an upgrade. I’d love to see this version of it integrated into '89 rather than the other way around. The miniature works better for this exaggerated soundstage Gotham than a location shoot.

Well if the flash movie is canon these films then 89’s look is the canon look.

A lot of the pleasure of this for me was scavenging appropriate HC clips and finding ways to incorporate them. That was fun and creative in a way that I enjoy. I also wanted to let his [potential] performance shine as much as possible, “prove” that he could probably convincingly pass as the same archetype if given the material and direction to do so. Even if I were to generate new fake Hayden lines, there’s something about knowing he never said or performed them that takes away from that premise.

Idk, I’ve been a little iffy about AI in these spaces, at least for myself personally. I think it’s exciting and cool to watch for other editors but not really anything I would find any fulfillment from. Maybe that changes with another idea I have down the line, but it’s so counter to what made this particular edit fun for me.

To answer the question about feasibility, it is possible, I’ve played around with it already. Just not interested

I will re-release the edit a little more polished soon like I said a few months ago, though. I think if anything, this AI stuff has given me a great out to stop thinking about this edit as ongoing

I think the ai voice thing will make workable one day. I mean technically it already has with Vader in the Kenobi series. I couldn’t remotely tell that was ai.
