I may consider it.
I may consider it.
So… to start off with, these regrades use the French trailer on the Blu-ray as reference.
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
These ones use some assorted film cel scans I found on eBay.

And these come from the telecine shots from the above post.

Unfortunately some of the tests I ran came out with screwy results. These are the ones that didn’t completely fail.
I do have a copy of James Cameron’s Titanic Explorer, but I’m not sure how viable it is as a source, given it was released in November '98.
Well, as far as the original colours are concerned, I think our best bet for the moment is to refer to the original trailers. They’re documented on the Blu-ray I have. Give me a day or two, I’ll see what I can gather.
Oh, so it’s like a Pan&Scan thing?
Oh… that’s a shame, I’d have loved to have seen it. Even if there were only a few frames.
May I suggest sending it to MrNiceGuy or Litemaker for scanning?
Oh, splendid! Will you be preserving the intermission slides as well?
Hey - that’s a thought! We might be able to get MrNiceGuy off the 'Spleen to scan the print for us if we pitch in!
Does anyone still have that open matte remux from a few months ago?
Has any progress been made with the screener tape?

But remember, many filmmakers choose not to release their 70mm versions on home video - Brad Bird, J.J Abrams(‘The Force Awakens’ IMAX scene), Zack Snyder (BvS IMAX scenes), even though they are clearly aware that there is a demand for such versions on home video.
Maybe it’s contractural obligations.
As I stated before, the torpedo sound in Balance of Terror is missing. Also, the computer voice is missing early into The Menagerie Part 1.
Buggered if I know. I should’ve been able to hear the photon torpedoes firing, but - nothing! It’s only on the 7.1! There’s gotta be some sort of conspiracy going on.
I’ll see what I can do, then.
Yes, I am. What do you recommend?
Oh, you’ll run into them soon enough. The Menagerie Part I and Balance of Terror come to mind.
I can’t be doing with this usenet thing, it drains my computer processing power massively.
Some of the Blu-ray mono tracks are obviously downmixes of the 7.1 tracks… as indicable by the new theme music and some sound effects missing. Someone will have to sync the older DVD audio to the new BD video.
On the subject of special effects, I hear tell that The Roddenberry Vaults has restored versions of some VFX shots. They might be a good starting point.
I can’t… I can’t find them!
Go back a couple pages. The names and passwords to each file were posted here.
Search on NZBKing.com. They’re all up on there.
Right, thanks for that. This is why I don’t do usenet, at least not before.
I can’t… I can’t find them!
Unfortunately I don’t have access to usenet.
So where can I get these Sky HD caps?
He’s not wrong there.
Where’d you hear about that?
What shortened “No”?
