and there is still this one timeslot Coming Soon.

Now this was a dead end in terms of an OOT announcement: Feud of the Force Celebrity Game Show.

It seems like they are going to screen the complete prequel trilogy in 3D and the original trilogy in 2D. Suspicious, I would say... Reliance's new 4K restoration?

I don't think they would screen a new transfer without properly advertising it. But if it is Reliance's, it's definitely not the OOT. They don't want to piss off PT/SE fans right at the celebration and given that ROTS is shown right before SW there will be a lot of PT/SE fans.

So, one week to go. I won't be there but I had a look at the schedule. Restored Music from ESB and Secrets of the Cantina seem to be somewhat relevant to the OOT and there is still this one timeslot Coming Soon. Also, "there might be a forward-looking surprise". Could it possibly happen or am I just too optimistic?

I love how Christians are bigots who believe that perhaps it is against God's will that homosexuality is an acceptable practice in his eyes, though they still defend the rights of homosexuals.

I can't help myself but point out this technical issue.

Christians who believe that homosexuality is against God's will don't believe in omnipotence of God, which is basically equal to not believing in God at all.

If it was against God's will then it wouldn't exists, would it?

This is basically the same as asking: "If God didn't want Eve to taste the apple, why didn't he create her in a way that she wouldn't want to taste it?" I'm sure this was answered a long time ago and probably has something to do with free will. You could find this out by yourself, instead of using your ignorance as an excuse to belittle people here.

Now, here it says Lucas has final cut rights on Star Wars. Still, Disney would be stupid if these rights weren't included in the deal. Any idea how to find out who has these rights at the moment?

I know not, Sire.  AFAIK, the details of the buyout haven't been given.

So in other words, saying Lucas still has final cut rights is just as much speculation as saying Disney has them. We don't know for sure, this guy

http://furiousfanboys.com/2015/02/action-figures-confirm-a-digital-release-of-the-star-wars-saga/

doesn't know anything either and everyone spreads their own favorite scenario of what is going to happen.

Your first reaction to Hayden is ROTJ

The Force is basically MAGIC, not some sci-fi microbes. It CAN guess what he would look like.

It doesn't make any sense. Suspension of disbelieve is not unlimited...  you have to put some limitations, and follow a bit of logic; otherwise everything you show on screen, however absurd, is legit.

It's logical to make Anakin appear in a form that is familiar to Luke, as we only see the force ghosts through Luke's eyes. It doesn't make sense to show him the way he looked when he was already halfway down the path to the dark side.

If Jedi would have been filmed after the prequels, I wouldn't even bother arguing, but the fact that Lucas thought it was necessary to make this change is what upsets me. The ending works perfectly without Hayden's face, so why did it have to be changed?

Episode IV: A Ridiculous Hope
Time

Some more ideas:

  • When Ben meets Luke first, change the dialoge from "I don't remember ever owning a droid." to "Obi-Wan remembers owning R20000."
  • When Luke wants to persuade Han to rescue the princess make them say:

Luke: They are going to kill her!

Han: Better me than her.

And then they just leave. Maybe swith around some more dialoge to make it look as if Han wants to go and Luke doesn't.

Han: Marching into the detention area is what I had in mind.

  • Whenever Luke hits someone with his Blaster, Han says: "Great shot, kid. That was one in a million."

Stay. Very interesting and very puzzling, I really liked it. The final conclusion leaves little room for further interpretation, but I think that's actually a positive thing, as it sets this movie apart from ones that just aim to confuse the audience by an open end. It's more of an explanation than an actual plot twist. 7/10

Star Wars prequels as a time travel story?
Time

Psst, first law of thermodynamics: Don't talk about thermodynamics ;-)

How many times did the rebels destroy the first death star in your multiverse? If they succeed most of the time, it would take away the tension for me, as they are kind of "meant" to win; If they fail most of the time, there are hundreds of thousands universes left where the empire wins, which would, in my eyes, make the few victories of the rebels pretty much meaningless. (If it's only one time, it would literally make it a "one in  a million" shot, like Han said :-D)

At the same time, 1,000,000 is still a very small number to explain how so many universes developed exactly the same except for one event. In my opinion, a big amount of branching points in a relatively short time (~100 years around the OT) doesn't seem very likely.

In the end, it depends if you're writing a dead serious chronicle or if you allow for some fun with "bizarro universes". In the former case, everything has to be thought through and plausible, in the latter case, smaller inconsistencies aren't that much of a problem.
