^^ Yeah, but does the general population care about 4K?
Ring theory confirmed!
This guy should run the thread

TFA sucks more than any other star wars movie
Wow, I can’t wait to see how this sentence ends.
weather’s fine, but I can’t guarantee precipitation.
what i read
This isn’t the parroty thread.
Btw, how about a thread like the parroty thread, but for single posts?

1 out of 3 points realized.
¯_(ツ)_/¯
EDIT:
I can only shrug at the shrugging thing not rendering properly.
The backslash is used to indicate that the following symbol, which is otherwise used for formatting, should to be displayed. For example sigh vs. *sigh*
For this reason, a single backslash is not displayed and you have to use two consecutive backslashes.
¯\(ツ)/¯
EDIT: for some reason, you have to use three backslashes.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Two backslashes escapes the first backslash but not the underscore. Three escape the backslash and the underscore.
Ahh, I didn’t realize that the underscore is doing the same as the asterisk.
¯_(ツ)_/¯

I’ll give you one guess.
Which is it?
That’s not how guessing works.
Today, I had this weird dark box in one thread.
So far, it’s only in this thread. When I switch to panorama mode, it dissappears.
I’m on Android 5.1.1, using the Samsung Internet browser that came with it, version 5.4.
Just off the top of my head…
TPM: Anakin, Obi-Wan, Yoda, C3PO, R2D2, The Emperor, Greedo (deleted scene but point stands)
AOTC: Boba Fett, Anakin, Obi-Wan, Yoda, C3PO, R2D2, The Emperor
ROTS: Chewbacca, Luke, Leia, Anakin, Obi-Wan, Yoda, C3PO, R2D2, The EmperorTFA: Rey, Finn, Poe, Kylo Ren, Phasma, Snoke, Hux, BB8, Maz
Yep, new characters in the PT, same old reboot characters in TFA…
Urge to trigger Frink…rising…
I believe you mean Rey(extreme Luke), Poe(extreme Wedge), Snoke(new Emperor), Hux(extreme Motti+Tarkin), BB8(really?), Maz(Yoda lite), Unkar Plutt(extra portions of Watto), Phasma(Boba Fett lite).
All these in addition to the outright reused characters:
Luke, Leia, Han, Chewie, R2, C3PO, Ackbar and Nien Nunb.
This list by itself rivals the prequels in length, let alone all of the clear character analogues and reused ships, locations, weapons, and plot points. But I’m mostly fine with all the reused characters in TFA and the prequels because at least it’s honest. The character analogues, not so much.
Shoving a dozen new characters in our face can hardly be called innovative, when they don’t have any personality. Qui-gon, Mace Windu, Kit Fisto and so on are so bland, calling them characters is an overstatement. They are just kind of there.
Every single character being manipulated for decades by some super powerful evil guy was already done in the prequels. And it was stupid.
Turning the whole saga upside down like that would just diminish it. The events of the earlier movies would lose their importance if everything was staged by Snoke. The force ghost of Obi-Wan gave true guidance to Luke, retconning him like that nullifies his teachings. In the context of the whole saga, Obi-Wan and Yoda are already complete idiots for not figuring out that Palpatine was behind it all, now they were also tricked by Snoke, too?
And then, is this plan really the best way for Snoke to rise to power? Like, is there no easier way than manipulating someone to fight against your cult in order to convert them to your cult? Like, why would he guide Luke to kill the Emperor, if the Emperor was the most powerful Sith and the Sith were created by Snoke specifically for his revenge plan? Wouldn’t it be easier to support the Emperor and Vader, who are already converted, instead of Luke, who might get converted, but if there’s a small chance that he doesn’t get converted, it would set the big plan back by decades?
JEDIT: Also, having a plot twist would be a total rehash and ruin Star Wars forever.
Better than palpatine 2.0
It is Palpatine 2.0, manipulating literally everyone around him in the most convoluted way.

Yeah, but was it explicitly a “real” brother or could it also mean half brother, step brother or “so close friends, they are like brothers” brother?
Are there more lines, where he presumably talks like Yoda? Because “lives he still” doesn’t strike me as particularly Yoda-esque. It sounds more like fancy Shakespeare English to me and that’s something totally expected of the Emperor.
Also, “This Yoda” doesn’t sound as if he knew him. Like, “this Yoda you speak of”. As if he isn’t quite sure if Yoda is real.
I would like to state for the record that I do not appreciate how discussion of trailers and other official material is allowed in non-spoiler threads. If you’re trying to avoid spoilers, like me, you’re probably also trying to avoid trailers. I think the stance that official material can not count as spoilers is ridiculous. Trailers and previews are deliberately designed to reveal things about the movie they are trailering or previewing. Therefore, they are spoilers in the same way, say, leaks from the set are spoilers. If you’re trying to accomplish a full media blackout, now you can’t read the spoiler thread or the non-spoiler thread.
😕
Yeah, but what would people discuss in the non-spoiler thread if trailers and posters are considered spoilers? Would they just write how excited they are for the movie over and over again?
I don’t think there is any way that any of us can truly know whether or not we are color blind.
Well, I’m not 100% sure what to think of it, but this kind of test is quite interesting™.
It seems to me that the X to cose the image simply doesn’t appear, although it’s there.
Here’s what I see when I open yhwx’s image. There is no button visible.
However, when I move my cursor to the top right corner, it changes its shape and when I click there, it closes the image and takes me back to the thread.

Wow, I never thought it was that bad. Are they tired of making these movies and want to alienate their viewers?
Is there a reason for the changing aspect ratio? I get the idea behind it in Grand Budapest Hotel and I can see the technical reasons for it in movies with Imax scenes, but this is just a stupid Transformers movie. I saw a sign at my cinema informing viewers that the changing aspect ratio is intended by the director and not a malfunction. This should indicate how the target audience of a Transformers movie thinks about changing aspect ratios.
Similar trend, yet again a slightly different term.
