What happened to Ned Flander’s wife’s ghost’s legs?

I think there might be a correlation between your two observations.
Take it to the NFL thread.
The following image reflects my reaction to this discussion and is therefore on-topic and adding value.
Yes, the people criticizing things never question the praise for these things.
You can avoid hitting a house with your car, so it shouldn’t be a problem for you to attach a thread to your car and fit it in the eye of a needle, which is placed on the road, while going 100 mph.
In that case: An unmanned kamikaze ship still needs the mass and size of a capital ship, it needs sublight engines and a hyperdrive and it needs an advanced piloting system. It has to stay with the main fleet in case it’s needed, so it costs additional money to operate. Why not buy a regular ship for the same price, which is much more versatile and not limited to one single use? And don’t tell me “it’s just a joke”.
I’m pretty sure a small TIE Fighter could do some damage to the Rebel cruiser.
In Rogue One, we see that the smaller rebel ships didn’t do much damage to the Stardestroyer, when they crashed in hyperspace, so no.
I was talking about the bridge.
So, you assume they can aim their hyperspace jump to directly fly into the bridge?
They can make calculations to avoid stars and what not en route, I think a bridge should not be much of a problem.
Because avoiding a huge star is the same as aiming at a tiny bridge.

But at the cost of one capital ship. Taking the rebel cruiser out with regular weapons is much more cost effective.

And the no image-only posts rule was put in place so that people don’t share every stupid meme without context.
But not contributing much. If he wants to make a point, he should write down his point, not post some stupid comic.
Jeez, relax…it is a joke. I thought it was funny, whilst also making a point, which is really obvious, and does not require written text. I don’t know how many off-topic “funny” remarks have been posted in this thread, and you’re raging against an on-topic cartoon? The forum rules allow image only posts if they are on-topic btw, and the cartoon makes a good point regarding the application of TLJ’s in-universe logic. It’s a nitpick to an extend, but it is also a valid criticism, considering the film features both a slow chase, where the bad guys somehow cannot get in range to kill the good guys for the reason of plot convenience, and a ship, that is used by the good guys as a lightspeed torpedo against the bad guys at a critical point in the film. It does make it seem, like RJ wanted to have his cake and eat it.
Ps. I should add, that I feel the cartoon is more entertaining than this post.
I’m not raging. And the rules say “No image-only posts unless the image has a direct bearing on the topic at hand and it adds value to the discussion.” I agree that the pic was on-topic, however, whether it adds value to the discussion is very debatable.
You might not feel so, but I do, so there you go. I’m not in favour of disagreeing with an opinion, and then to pass it off as not having value, or something even less pleasant. There’s too much of that going on around here. I would rather discuss the point being made.
I’m not saying the opinion in the comic has no value, I’m saying expressing your opinion by posting someone else’s comic without context is bad form. People have to assume your exact opinion and you can brush off any criticism with “it’s just a joke”, which is a pretty bad excuse in general.

^ Proof that ender hasn’t read the TLJ thread.

Just watched this short making of the ESB score.
Isn’t this an image-only post? How does it contribute anything to the discussion?
And you could read the posts you were “ignoring” by pressing a button on the post. So it was mostly used to passive-aggressively show someone that you don’t like them.
I wasn’t writing them off, I was trying to say the traditional movie critic who had a journalistic background or came out of the movie industry seems a rare breed these days.
There were plenty of critics I couldn’t stand back in the day. There was at least one who seemed to enjoy trashing Star Wars regularly. Probably pulling their hair out now if they’re still around. 😉
OOH! Have ya seen the video of Siskel & Ebert defending ROTJ against some fool? It’s great! 😄
Here it isThanks, I loved seeing that and Siskel says exactly the same thing I just said!
“This is very good of its kind.” He repeats it again and again. “This is very good OF ITS KIND.”
Judge The Last Jedi against its peers. Objectively it is a high quality family film. You can look at the professional critics opinions, aggregated on metacritic and rotten tomatoes. This is very good of its kind. Pirates Of The Caribbean, Transformers, Planet Of The Apes, Justice League. This is not opinion, this is the truth.
Shouldn’t you judge Star Wars vs Star Wars? They’re all Star Wars movies.
No, because if I say to you Collipso ‘what is your fave film of all time?’ and you reply “Empire Strikes Back” - then you are judging this new flick against the highest cinematic benchmark you’ve ever experienced. Nothing should have to attain such an unrealistic stretch target.
But if I say to you, “Collipso, out of the films you saw in 2017, which did you enjoy the most?”… and that film is The Last Jedi then I would say that’s a great success!
I see your point. However, I think we should judge a Star Wars movie against other Star Wars movies. If Star Wars movies have hit a certain mark in the past, I expect the other that follow it to do the same, to hit the same marks and if possible even more. If not, I won’t be impressed. In fact I’ll be a bit disappointed, that’s all.
I still really enjoyed both of my TLJ experiences. I do think that, as a movie, the first act is fairly weak and messy, and that the pace during that session is not very good at all. I also think some of the dialogue and writing decisions didn’t resonate well with me. But it’d still be a 7/10 or 7.5/10 for me, and that’s ok. What I don’t like are some of the directions taken with the characters. And I have my problems with the ST as a whole too.
PS: Star Wars is my favorite Star Wars movie, and my favorite movie of all time is probably The Godfather Part II.
If you want to compare TLJ to other Star Wars movies, why not include the prequels in this comparison? We finally have watchable Star Wars movies again, it might not be ESB level, but there are only two Star Wars movies which reached that, anyways. ROTJ is a solid movie, but compared to all Star Wars movies before it, it’s a letdown. TLJ, compared to all Star Wars movies before it, is closer to ESB than AOTC.
‘Text only signatures’ should contain no more than 9 lines of default-sized text in them - this includes lines used for any line breaks / paragraph breaks or gaps.
the maximum allowed size in total for anyone wishing to have a signature will be 600px (horizontal) and 120px (vertical) - plus one additional line of text that may not exceed 900px (horizontal).
Sounds to me like it applies to text, too.
Nothing for the last 10 pages. I’m getting bored.
I’m really reading it! Mostly to find out how long that joke hasn’t been made.
