nice cover though...
nice cover though...
Also, we have the good audio on Andrea's release... not just the original 2-channel laserdisc track (which sounds great), but also the HDNet Movies multi-channel version of the original audio (they cooked that one up and it sounds great). The Blu-ray multi-channel audio altered the original, though it's a powerful track.
Just FYI... used Handbrake to convert it and it worked like a charm.
Just watched the 1080p version and damn if this ain't old school at its finest... all scratchy and f'd up, but in a good way. Just for shits and giggles, I added the best 5.1 track that syncs from about when Han and Leia have their sitdown on Bespin to more or less when Vader says "Bring My Shuttle." Awesome experience with the booming audio. It would definitely be worthwhile to sync the whole thing. The lightsabres during the duel remind me of how magical they seemed in theaters back in the day. Anyway, greatly appreciate the effort by Team Negative1 and this is a remarkable way to watch Empire, once again.
If I were going to buy a brand new Panasonic today, this is the one I'd get based on performance reviews as a player, because I play discs. If you stream a lot of content, other players have less ads. I don't give a damn about that stuff. I want a solid player to play discs often.

I'm sure others will have suggestions.
Some people complain about ads on Panasonic BD players when utilizing streaming content, but as far as a bullet proof tried and true player... strictly speaking to the mechanism and durability, the Panasonic players have held up better than any I've used. I started with the very first Samsung BD player and I've seen a lot of players in action since. Many of my friends have had bad luck with Sony and Samsung. When I steered them to Panasonic, it was smooth sailing ever since. Some of these Panasonic players I'm seeing in action and still going strong are now 4 or 5 years old with heavy use. Panasonic builds their stuff to last. Even if you drill it, you'll still get a longer life than most other players.
Anyone have the season 2 finale episode "M.I.A." where Al and Beth dance to "Georgia On My Mind" recorded from broadcast television or streaming intact? This episode alone is worth it.
"... a world that has seemingly forgotten about slowing down and enjoying the little things in life..." You're sure as to shit right about that.
@Chris Solo... very moving, and thank you for sharing that with the other fans around here who understand why Harmy's work is so important. I have friends who are just discovering these restorations and they are beside themselves with appreciation. It means a great deal more than one might know. Thanks again.
Sorry, digitalfreaknyc... you had it first.

Harmy, you're getting good press today!
I've listened to Empire 2.0 and Star Wars 2.5 several times on my 5.1 system and have no issues whatsoever. I think it sounds superb across the board. Thanks again to hairy_hen and Harmy for all the hard work. These both turned out great!!
Impressive work, Harmy. Most impressive.
Thanks again, Harmy. We love ya, dude.
Once again, this project turned out spectacular... highly recommended to anyone who loves The Road Warrior (Mad Max 2). Just do yourself a favor and get it. Thanks kk650 for another bitchin' flick in 16gigs. This one looks and sounds stunning!
Try Free4all instead of free4All.
Thank you Sir... you're a King.
You're a gentleman and a scholar... I just have issues with the dox but I understand why it's awesome. Right now the spleen is the king of my stupid world.
Will someone please be a hero and put kk650's version on the spleen... thanks to everyone who has ever existed!
Somewhere around here is a thread with screencaps of Batman Returns showing the darker vs. lighter look of Keaton in the cowl. It's a pretty dramatic difference with the light around just his eyes vs. a fully lit mask.
As a matter of fact, it was.
If anyone has kk650's color-corrected Mad Max 2, please consider including it on the spleen. Thanks in advance!
