ZigFried's the Thief and the Cobbler Archival DVDs/Combo Pack (CANCELLED)
Time
Hi ZigFried!

I have the complete Thief and the Cobbler torrent that ocpmovie put up on Myspleen, which has loads of extras, including the workprint and the widescreen Miramax Cut, in quality a hell of a lot better than the Google video one. And I downloaded a load more stuff.
Have you got all of this stuff? If not, do you want it?

King Kong: The Spence Edit 2.0 (Released)
Time
I agree ShiftyEyes. Personally, I don't see the point in 90% of the remakes that have been shot. What is the point is remaking what is already a good or excellent film? I'm thinking of the Psycho remake (or reshoot), The Omen, The Italian Job, The Getaway, Never Say Never Again, Get Carter, Around the World in 80 Days, Assault on Precinct 13 and King Kong (1976). I fear for Logan's Run and The Dam Busters, even though I admire most of the directors' work.
Some of the few remakes that I actually enjoy are probably The Thomas Crown Affair, Cape Fear, Always, All Quiet on the Western Front and to some extent, King Kong (2005).
Do you know this website: http://www.movie-remakes.com/
Maybe we should start a new thread discussing remakes, as this could be get wildly off-topic.

King Kong: The Spence Edit 2.0 (Released)
Time
Editing Peter Jackson's King Kong to attempt to match the original is one of the ideas I am working on. I've got the Theatrical and Extended Cut DVD, but the Extended Cut does have better picture quality.
I've got a load of notes that I made when I watched this film with the express intention of mapping out the edit. I've got the script for the original and I think it's quite feasible.
I'm playing around with Womble at the moment, trying to get used to it and I intend to start on it as soon as possible.

Lord of the Rings - TTT - The Re-Edited Re-Edit Book Cut! (Released)
Time
Hi Lord Phillock!

I obtained your Lord of the Rings Book Cuts through a trade (thanks Calisto!). I got them as single-layer DVDs. I've read your thread on re-grading the entire Trilogy, where you mentioned that you might re-do the Book Cuts. My first question is, would you object to these single-layer DVDs being torrented again?
The second question is, do you still have the DVD covers and is there any way you can re-post them on RapidShare or e-mail them to me?
Thanks for your help and Merry Christmas.

Info Wanted: versions of Metropolis?
Time
Among other releases, I have a VHS release that claimed to be the longest version ever available, but it simply shown at a lower speed, at 14 fps. It's the Eureka 1997 release.
And as far as I know, the Giorgio Moroder version was available on Laserdisc and PAL format video in the UK at some pointat least. I've got a Laserdisc transfer to DVD which isn't bad.

The Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled Director's Cut (Released)
Time
I saw the theatrical cut on TV a good 20 years ago, in Portugal, and I could never remember what is called. Now I know what it is.
I want to get this on DVD, as I'm downloading the Recobbled Cut. Which DVD should I get? The old or the new one? What about the VHS? Is it the same cut that released on DVD the first time around. What about LaserDisc?
I'd appreciate any help you can provide.
Cheers.
