Weren't there several different versions of TMP released? What are they and which is best?
My "Special Longer Version" using letterbox footage from multiple sources. All released versions had been P&S. *Grin*

As i was was waiting for anything near positive feedback on that one...Got a spanning spine set of all the Godzilla DVD's, and i will no doubt be a slut to the new Godzilla filum.
Oh, and thinkin bout it Heather, i have the directors cut of that and have never watched it (I compare it to Bladerunner too much).
"Pacific Rim" has a blatant stylistic nod to "Blade Runner". One that I quite enjoyed.
"Pacific Rim"
Cliche ridden, predictable, over the top, yet I enjoyed myself.
If you enjoy Godzilla movies and cheesy low budget movies like Robot Jox, then you just might have yourself a good time. Don't expect anything cerebral, or scientifically enlightening. It's more like a Roland Emmerich style film.
3 out of 5 balls
Neil Hamilton, 1924
Neil Hamilton, 1966
"1776"
One of the very few musical pictures that I return to time and time again.
And
"Jaws"
A 4th of July tradition at my house. Still fresh, exciting, scary, and humorous in all the right places.

If anyone's interested, Redlettermedia has released their review of Man of Steel.
I agreed with everything they said about this film.
This was more like "Man of Steal" (my money).
I walked out of this film just after the jet attack, and Superman crashing into the IHOP with one of the villains. Product placement sure can be annoying. These overload of CGI shows hold absolutely no wonder element for me at all. This disaster fest had no magic, no romanticism, no humor. Violent to excess is an understatement. I will never forget the pure excitement and wonder the 1978 film had. The goose bumps and thrills I got at moments like when Lois said "You got me? Who's got you?" are not to be found anyplace in this poorly scripted mess. Glenn Ford was in the original for less then 10 minutes of screen time, yet his Jonathan Kent's emotional tear jerking death felt like a dear old friend had just passed. They sure don't make them like they used to! I've been following the progress of this film's production over the last few years, and very sad that it's turned out to be total disappointment for me.

Not that serious...people are banned from entering countries all the time. It's when they throw you out of the country there's a real problem.
Like Trenton Oldfield!
Best if I just post the links, as The Artist Taxi Driver says it best.
