To 100% fair in both cases Fred did face a reduced budget and was given less time to make episodes. Also Space 1999 was pretty silly from the get go.
oh and from what I understand the network was putting pressure on him to make Star Trek more like Lost in Space since in the short term that series had made more money for ravel CBS.
Did you ever see this french interview with Martin Landau? Someone had posted the link here sometime back. Sorry I can't remember who.
Most of it is in French, but Landau's answers are all in English, and quite reveling. He does not hold much respect for Fred at all. He also talks about how he was asked to play one of Star Treks most iconic roles, but turned it down.
Space:1999 - Martin Landau interview (1999)
Edit: I also think it's funny how the French hostess looks like Boxy from the original "Battlestar Galactica".

The more I read about Roddenberry, the less I like about him, both as a creator/showrunner and as a person.
I think I had mentioned that I met that man a few times, and he swore like a sailor. He truly enjoyed the adulation of his sycophants. I was not impressed.
Finally had a HUGE beehive removed from a bush in my front yard today. I filmed it and just posted it to my YouTube Channel.
My Beehive Removal - Feb. 06, 2015
BEE* sure to view in HD 1080p
*yes I know I spelled "Be" incorrectly in this instance.
Spring has arrived in Las Vegas! I was able to wear shorts for two days in a roe now.

THIS THREAD AND EVERYTHING IN IT DOES NOT EXIST AND IS MERELY A PRODUCT OF YOUR DERANGED IMAGINATION.

I think repeat posting of the same thread should be "bannable".

Most of the directors listed so far, and (but not only)...

So I checked the Criterion CAV FRWL laserdisc vs. THX 1997 DVD and the MGM laserdisc from The Connery Collection Vol. 1 box set. The MGM laser and the THX dvd seem to be the same print. But, The THX DVD and MGM laser are definitely not the same print as the Criterion CAV FRWL. The end titles give it away. On the Criterion CAV FRWL, the "James Bone will return in the next Ian Fleming thriller.. GOLDFINGER" text is removed via an edit. The THX dvd and the MGM laser have that text intact.

Well I became a Trek fan around 1975 when the show went into heavy syndicated airplay. I was 8 or 9 years old, and the show became a huge part of my life. I had the tie-in toys, games and action figures. I had Kirk's uniform shirt (made the mistake of wearing it to school, but that is a story for another time...). Well I loved the original ship too. It was imprinted on my brain. In 1979 when I saw STMP for the first time, I hated the sets, the costumes, and the new look of the ship. It was not until I saw "The Wrath of Khan" and the re-lighted and decorated sets, that I re-evaluated The Enterprise as seen in "The Motion Picture". That engine room set is still impressive. I don't think they have ever topped it. The ship as seen in the first two films seemed to me like it could have been a real functional spaceship. The original series ship left a lot to the imagination as far as things like the control panels, and other props. It's the realism of the movie ship this makes it my personal favorite.

I know its probably blasphemy but i always preferred the model used in the motion picture the so called Refit. The one they reused as the Enterprise A
Wholeheartedly agree.
I'm with these guys!
A poster of the photo below adorned my bedroom wall for many years.

FF, I wanted to compare it against the MGM and see if the print used was different. I should have mine here soon.
I think the print is different. I will have to pull it out and look. I seem to remember a lot of print damage on that one.
